About the Opportunity

 

Mendaera is looking for a Staff level Linux Platform C++ Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement software to enable robotic medical interventions based on real-time multimodal imaging and sensor information.  

The Linux Platform C++ Software Engineer will work with Mendaera’s co-founders to shape the Company’s solution definition and execute robot software platform development. The position reports to Mendaera’s Lead Software Engineer, and will collaborate closely with our product management and engineering teams. The annual salary range for this role is $170,000 - $210,000

Staff Software Engineer - Platform C++ responsibilities include:

  • Working with clinical, product, and engineering teams to ensure the software meets user requirements and design specifications
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code primarily in C++ and Python
  • Design and implement fundamental software systems to enable robot functionality, testing, data logging and deployment. 
  • Develop tests and test frameworks to ensure code quality and reliability
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues as they arise across the stack
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure that code meets coding standards and best practices

Desired skills and qualities:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience designing and implementing software subsystems
  • Strong C++ development skills, software design skills, and algorithms and data structures knowledge
  • Experience configuring and maintaining Linux systems in production environments
  • Experience writing libraries and shared software components to improve software development lifecycle
  • Experience interfacing with peripheral hardware and devices with Linux
  • Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and independent
  • Excellent technical and analytical capability, with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of emotional intelligence and ability to build and manage diverse relationships
