Job Description
Health Information Management Department (HIM) is seeking an enthusiastic leader to supervise our growing Clinical Documentation Improvement Program. Reporting to the Associate Director of HIM Clinical Operations, the Manager, Clinical Documentation Integrity will manage the operations and activities of the high-performing inpatient and outpatient Clinical Documentation Improvement Staff.
Responsible for evaluating the overall completeness and quality of Clinical Documentation in acute settings. Works in partnership with the Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists, physician leadership, physicians, advanced practice practitioners, nursing, coding staff and other health care professionals to ensure medical records accurately reflect patient acuity primarily for quality reporting, Diagnosis-Related Group (DRG) assignment and Hierarchical Condition Category (HCC) coding.
You will:
- Assess and enhance the completeness and quality of Clinical Documentation in acute healthcare settings.
- Collaborate with Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists, physicians, advanced practice practitioners, nursing, coding staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate medical records for patient acuity, quality reporting, DRG assignment, and HCC coding.
- Support the prevention, detection, and resolution of non-compliance with billing policies, working in tandem with institutional guidelines.
- Interpret and present quarterly Medicare Monitoring and Profiling reports from 3M.
- Develop performance improvement tactics for measurable goals related to cost savings and enhanced outcomes in SOI, ROM, and other quality measures.
- Lead the CDI team, establishing clear performance goals and fostering professional development opportunities.
- Educate healthcare professionals on the significance of accurate clinical documentation for quality reporting, reimbursement, public health data, and disease tracking.
- Experience with 3M 360 coding and reporting applications. Interprets and summarizes quarterly Medicare Monitoring and Profiling reports provided by 3M. Must have experience and knowledge of Vizient comparative analytics and quality metrics.
You need:
- Proven experience 4-7 yrs. of clinical documentation improvement and/or RN/Clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting
- 3 years of management experience
- CCS or ACDIS certification preferred
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
- 3M or Vizient data analytics experience

Pay Range $118,800.00-$196,200.00
This role has 8% management bonus eligibility. Additionally, we are offering a competitive sign-on bonus (minimum 10k) and will consider candidates open to relocation to NYC.
