This position directs the preparation, review, and consolidation of information systems budgets and business plans in support of IT. Manages the implementation of formal budget/procurement processes, templates and tools that align IT to corporate goals and reporting needs. Ensures adherence to budgets and business plans. Responsible for implementing, communicating and enforcing policies, standards, and methodologies related to the management and governance of the IT budget. Partners with various Business Areas, Corporate Finance, and IT leadership to develop and implement annual budgets and to ensure that compliance to that budget is maintained throughout the year. Ensures compliance with all corporate finance standards, policies and practices.


 

What You'll be Doing:

  • Manages the planning, development, administration and monitoring of the IT capital and expense budgets, including Meijer IT and contracted labor budgets.
  • Leads and drives the collaboration between IT Senior Leadership and Finance on financial metrics and cost transparency initiatives.
  • Provide centralized structure for communicating financial performance of IT-related initiatives.
  • Directs the annual budgeting process for IT.
  • Manages a team of Financial Analysts, Portfolio Analysts, and Project Coordinators responsible for the day-to-day financial activities within IT.
  • Facilitates the creation of a team environment and acts as a servant leader.
  • Responsible for team member staffing and selection.
  • Responsible for talent development, including active coaching, to support team member’s technical and functional skills and career growth.
  • Supports the IT Business Management team with execution of the strategic initiatives.
  • Develops, delivers, and maintains reporting processes for IT budget/financial metrics Interprets results, providing information to all levels of IT leadership, Corporate Finance and IT project/program leaders to enable sound business decisions.
  • Responsible for facilitating the IT strategic fiscal plan and communicating updates to IT senior leadership teams and other cross functional partners.
  • Oversees the development of the necessary training and documentation on IT fiscal processes and programs. Determines training strategies.

  • What You Bring with You (Qualifications):
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, or related disciplines or equivalent work experience is required.
  • 8+ years of experience in Information Technology, IT administration, Finance, and business or systems development is preferred.
  • Conceptual knowledge of information technologies and methodologies desirable.
  • Experience in the retail industry or in a production/service environment similar to that of Meijer is preferred.
  • Substantial experience managing simultaneous, cross-functional projects and/or programs is required.
  • 4+ years of project lead experience in which one or more of the following occurred:  demonstrated strong abilities in relationship management, successfully managed IT financial assets, budgets, purchasing, etc., demonstrated ability to manage multidiscipline, high-performance work teams and development groups, demonstrated competency in the execution of multiple projects, including managing resources across multiple projects to meet goals and developed efficient and effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems.
