The Executive & High Potential Development team creates development experiences and programming for the Top 135 executive leaders, Top 600 senior leaders and high potential leaders, focusing on their ability to demonstrate enterprise behaviors, disciplines and skills / capabilities to execute the strategy and playbook.

The Senior Director, Executive & High Potential Development will report into the Vice President, Talent Management and play a key role in the planning, design, communication and execution of executive development programs and initiatives.  This role is a critical component in shaping a healthy, high-performance culture of our most senior leaders.  This includes leading efforts for leadership calls, development webinars, the bi-annual Senior Leaders Meeting, and additional initiatives.  This role is responsible for stakeholder managements of various internal and external partners including the Executive Operating Team (EOT), Human Resources Leadership Team (HRLT) BU/Fx Leadership, HR COEs, Senior HR Business Partners, Internal Communications, Event Services, Executive Admins, and outside vendors.  The incumbent will leverage contemporary methodologies to accelerate achieving McKesson business priorities and demonstration of our leadership behaviors and capabilities by providing seamless programming to support the organization.  This role is responsible for leading existing programs and creating new solutions that will fit within the context of the organization’s current capabilities and programs.  Additionally, this role will be responsible for designing, developing and delivering our four High Potential Leadership Programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply expert knowledge of Executive Development to diagnose needs and define solutions that meet unique business requirements

  • Brings leading practices, emerging trends, vendor selection methodology, performance benchmarking analysis, and other activities to achieve clear and consistent strategic alignment to McKesson initiatives

  • Facilitation and presenting to executive leaders across the Organization.

  • Engages with HR Business Partners, HR COEs and business leaders to understand requirements, organizational goals, and expected skills and behaviors of McKesson leaders (ILEAD leadership values) and creates capability programs to build the necessary skills and capabilities to execute the strategy.

  • Defines and measures success metrics using qualitative and quantitative methods to monitor change progress and assesses the change impact(s) in achieving shared leadership culture.

  • Occasionally responsible for coaching McKesson executives in their roles as a team member, facilitator, etc.

  • Identifies solutions to barriers/risks/concerns to successful implementation along with COE partners as needed.

  • Work closely with McKesson’s talent assessment and learning & development teams to ensure continuity as it relates to executive alignment requirements and cascading executive content throughout the organization

  • Liaise with HR Business Partners and leadership to manage expectations and communicate plans.

  • Designs, delivers, and/or supports team and capability building programs for EOT members, independently or with vendors.

  • Designs, develops and delivers our four high potential programs for employees and leaders at various levels throughout the organization.

  • Leads a team of 2-3 HR employees to develop and lead the aforementioned responsibilities.



Minimum Requirements
10+ years organizational development/human resources or related work experience

Critical Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in areas such as talent management, selection and assessment, executive assessment, human resources technology, corporate training, instructional design, and digital learning.

  • 10+ years in either Executive Development OR HRBP Leadership/-Learning space

  • Executive program development, design and execution experience

  • Global experience

  • High level of executive development experience and ability to influence and advise executives one-on-one or in a group setting

  • Ability to develop new and innovative solutions, challenging others to also translate creative ideas into concrete action-plans

  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills

  • Critical attention to detail – considering the level of our target audiences, we strive for flawless execution

  • Executive presence and organizational savvy are critical to success

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Ability to effectively influence others and move toward a common vision or goal; ability to engage early adopters and resisters

  • Works in a collaborative environment to decide on the most effective and efficient way to complete work and achieve desired outcomes

  • Promotes the adoption and embedding of new behaviors and mindsets by individuals and teams through a systems-thinking approach

  • Project management skills, including creating and monitoring action-plans, managing against milestones, knowing what to prioritize and why, knowing who to keep informed, why, and how often, and knowing when to escalate.


Education
4-year degree in OD/HR or related field or equivalent experience

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$153,600 - $256,000
