Job Summary:

The Sr. Portfolio Analyst is responsible for creating data-driven insights to communicate the value and status of the portfolio. This role plays a crucial part in driving strategic decision-making, optimizing portfolio performance, and providing executive updates to senior management, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy.

Responsibilities:

Lead Portfolio Governance & Execution:

  • Establish and enforce project approval processes and guidelines.
  • Prioritize projects based on strategic objectives, resource availability, and business impact.
  • Oversee business operations functions to ensure smooth operations and adherence to established processes.
  • Perform Project and Program Management functions.

Objectives & Key Results (OKR) Tracking:

  • Evaluate portfolio performance against key metrics and benchmarks.
  • Develop and implement a system for tracking and reporting on objectives and key results.
  • Monitor progress towards OKRs and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Identify deviations from set objectives and collaborate with cross-functional teams to address them.

Resource and Financial Tracking and Management:

  • Monitor resource utilization and allocation across projects.
  • Ensure efficient utilization of resources and propose adjustments when necessary.
  • Track project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial reports to stakeholders.

Provide Executive Updates:

  • Prepare and deliver regular executive-level reports on project progress, status, and performance.
  • Present key findings, insights, and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project managers and team leads to gather relevant information for executive updates.
  • Ensure updates are comprehensive, accurate, and aligned with strategic objectives.

Process Improvement and Optimization:

  • Continuously evaluate and improve portfolio management processes and methodologies.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance data collection, analysis, and reporting capabilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement tools and systems that streamline data management and reporting.
  • Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging trends in portfolio management and data analysis.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field.

Critical Skills:

  • Proven experience in portfolio management, project management, or a similar role.
  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, visualization, and storytelling.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work with minimal direction in a fast-paced, continuously evolving environment.

Additional Skills:

  • Proficiency in using project management tools and software.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry or experience in IT project management within a healthcare organization is preferred.
  • Knowledge of financial and investment concepts is preferred.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$126,000 - $210,000
