Job Description

This is a brilliant opportunity to join the Strategic Sourcing Team that is accountable for category management of food & packaging, amounting to over £1.5 billion in spend, on behalf of McDonald's UK & Ireland. You will work closely with the entire team as well as others within Supply Chain functions to shape our strategic sourcing strategies that delivers an optimised, balanced, and assured supply chain which provides McDonald's with an enduring driven advantage.

This role is perfect for an experienced Sourcing expert with a background in food and/or packaging. If you are passionate about supply chain, category management and want to work alongside a talented and devise team, please apply.

What will my accountabilities be?

  • Develop supplier relationships and systems that ensure continuous improvement within the parameters of cost, value, and service
  • Present finalised commercial recommendations with a well-thought out & clear rationale that displays all relevant avenues have been explored
  • Responsibility for strategic data analysis and insights
  • Prioritise key projects within allocated categories and thinks innovatively around bold, progressive moves that can be taken forward to develop the business' leadership position
  • Takes on and lead cross-functional / category-based projects that optimize supply chain benefits
  • Lead Global & Local business reporting requirements and deliver these in an accurate and timely fashion

What Team will I be a part?

You would be working within the Strategic Sourcing team as an integral part of the Supply Chain function. In undertaking this work, it is important that you seek a collaborative approach with partners across the department and wider business.

Who are my customers?

As a Strategic Sourcing Officer, you will develop and lead relationships with key internal and external partners, these include the Senior Leadership team, Supply Chain department, QA, Logistics, Sustainable and Ethical Sourcing, Food Development, Marketing, Business Strategy and Insight, Operations, Supplier Partners, 3rd party Distributor and Franchisees.

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
