The Opportunity: 
We’re seeking a motivated, passionate, collaborative, and detail-oriented Global Security Coordinator with experience in the security field to help protect Mattel’s employees, guest (s), product (s), and brands. The ideal candidate is a team player, has excellent computer skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, experience in designing and delivering training programs for employees at all levels and can organize & prioritize tasks.

This position is located at Mattel’s headquarters in El Segundo, California.

What Your Impact Will Be: 

  • Support Mattel’s GlobalSecurity Strategy to protect people, assets, and Mattel’s reputation by providing exceptional customer service and consistently applying policies and practices.
  • Enforce Mattel Global Security policies and practices to create a safe and secure environment for all employees and visitors.
  • Responsible for managing and supporting administrative security functions including but not limited to coordinating, preparing, organizing, creating, updating, maintaining, and processing.
    • Coordination of meetings, special events, and training opportunities through scheduling, agenda development, resource allocation, and coordinating activities with other departments within Mattel and outside vendors.
    • Develop and deliver comprehensive security training programs. Identify training needs, develop training materials, deliver instruction as needed, and track training progress.
    • Provide administrator and technical support for all Global Security systems to include JotForm, Resolver, DocTract, GuardTrax, Video management, Access Control, etc.
    • Develop, edit, and maintain security documents, policies, procedures, and forms.
    • Implement best practices for security operations and develop new protocols when necessary.
    • Prepare and present reports on Global Security operations, incident response, and investigations.
    • Maintain documents and records in accordance with Mattel retention and storage procedures.
    • Coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed to ensure work is completed timely and in accordance with any contracts or agreements.  
    • Collaborate with Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability (EHS&S) to ensure alignment during events and between security and safety policies.
    • Assist in preparing comprehensive plans for various emergency situations. This includes supporting regular drills and updating emergency plans based on evolving threats.
    • Manage the Global Security uniform program through order processing, on hand supply monitoring, article customization, and issuance tracking.
    • Assist in maintaining fleet records for company vehicles and drivers at all sites. This includes monitoring vehicle usage, fuel usage, and maintenance records.
    • Maintain security team coverage through schedule development, monitoring, and documentation as per Mattel’s Dependability program.
    • Welcome visitors by greeting them and answering or referring any and all inquiries.
    • Assist with Visitor registration utilizing the Envoy Visitor Management system, and directing vendors, contractors, and delivery persons.
    •  Additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor or manager.
    • Flexibility to work on multiple shifts and or shift times to support business needs.
    • This is an onsite position and does not allow for remote work.
    • Travel required- up to 25%

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills to ensure daily duties and security projects are completed on schedule.  
  • Time management ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage time efficiently, especially in environments where multiple security-related tasks need to be addressed simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be able to communicate effectively with the public and with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to take initiative and problem solve.
  • Ability to analyze incoming information or data and logically interpret what is being reviewed and/or to develop appropriate solutions as needed.  
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
  • Proficiency in security technology, risk assessment, and incident reporting.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle emergency situations effectively.
  • Attention to detail by monitoring projects, processes, systems, and documentation to ensure accuracy and prevent oversights.
  • Problem solving by analyzing issues and implementing or recommending appropriate solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with people at all levels and building relationships locally and internationally.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Accountability to hold yourself, your team, and your partners to the highest standard for performance necessary for the achievement of results.

Qualifications

  • One+ years of project management, Security, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, Law Enforcement, or military background preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED, required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business policies, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Retaining and implementing knowledge of all applicable Standard Operating Procedures,
  • Being open to change and adapting to new information or unexpected obstacles.
  • Ability to write reports, polices, procedures, training materials, and business correspondence, including detailed incident reports writing in a professional manner.
  • Display exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer, tablet, and Smart Phone knowledge – (Microsoft suite, internet, mobile applications, and email).
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to rotate shifts based on business needs. Must be able to work weekends and overtime, as required.
  • Ability to use security equipment and navigate security systems as needed.
  • Attend and participates in all mandatory training to meet requirements, maintain job-competence, and succeed in professional development.
  • Complete and maintain certification for First Aid, CPR, AED for adult and pediatric
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. when necessary (e.g., handling equipment or supporting emergency procedures).


The base hourly rate for this position is between $20.80 to $26.00.
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however base hourly rate will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
