The Team:

As a key member of the DACH Marketing team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the Dolls portfolio, including Barbie, Polly Pocket, Monster High and our licensed brands from Disney, Universal & Warner Brothers. As Manager Marketing Dolls, you’ll drive impactful local strategies and innovative plans to capture market share and fuel sustainable, profitable growth. Beyond shaping the brands’ success, you’ll also have the exciting opportunity to lead, inspire and develop a four-person team, with three talented marketers reporting directly to you.

Job Description

What Your Impact Will Be: 

  • Own the Success of the Mattel Dolls Portfolio – Take full ownership of the portfolio and drive its long-term growth.
  • Build strong local partnership with licensors – Manage relationships with partner brands
  • Be the Market Expert – Deep-dive into market trends, retail dynamics, and shopper behavior to uncover opportunities, minimize risks, and create tailored strategies that make an impact.
  • Lead a 360° Franchise Strategy – Ensure a seamless brand experience in close cross-functional collaboration with the consumer products team.
  • Shape the Portfolio & Drive Growth – Steer portfolio strategies, pricing models, and launch decisions to maximize success. Collaborate closely with the sales team to develop tailored retail activation plans by channel and customer.
  • Own the Media Strategy – Develop and implement compelling media plans that reach and engage the target audience.
  • Strategically Deploy A&P Investments – Manage and optimize Advertising & Promotion (A&P) budgets to amplify impact.
  • Monitor & Optimize Performance – Track key business results and initiative effectiveness, taking decisive action to drive continuous improvement.
  • Inspire & Develop Your Team – Lead, mentor, and empower your team, fostering a high-performance and growth-oriented culture.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • At least 6 years of experience in commercial or marketing roles, ideally in the Toys, FMCG, or Entertainment industries.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in managing, coaching, and developing teams, with a passion for mentorship and growth.
  • Fluent in English and German, ensuring seamless communication in an international setting.
  • A university degree in Economics, Business Administration, or a related field (Bachelor, Master, or Diploma).
  • Experience in large international matrix organizations, with the ability to navigate complexity, align stakeholders, and drive impactful results.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and influence key stakeholders to drive alignment and success.
  • Ability to seek out fresh, creative ways to connect with audiences. With a deep understanding of digital trends, you leverage cutting-edge strategies to keep the brand ahead of the curve.
  • A strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, turning ideas into clear plans that deliver results.
  • A highly competitive spirit, a results-oriented mindset, and the determination to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skilled at handling multiple projects with tight deadlines while maintaining focus and efficiency.
  • A leadership style that empowers teams, fostering motivation, engagement, and high performance. Capable of guiding, supporting, and challenging teams to reach their full potential.
