Job Description
The Opportunity
We are looking for a highly motivated Manager, Corporate Communications for Asia Pacific to join our dynamic team in this newly created role. This individual will play a key role in shaping, enhancing, and protecting Mattel’s corporate and brand reputation in the region.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with leadership across the APAC region, as well as our global corporate communications teams, to strengthen and amplify Mattel’s presence through strategic communications. You will drive external communications plans, develop media relationships, and support leadership visibility efforts, all while creating campaigns that resonate across diverse markets.

As the Manager, Corporate Communications for APAC, you will be responsible for:
- Develop and execute external communications strategies to increase Mattel’s visibility, reputation, and engagement across key stakeholders.
- Partner with regional and country leaders to develop and implement campaigns that support their roles as key spokespersons for Mattel in the APAC marketplace.
- Work closely with U.S. and international teams to execute consumer PR campaigns that increase brand awareness and relevance in the region.
- Lead the creation and execution of crisis communication plans in close collaboration with U.S.-based corporate communications leadership, managing sensitive media responses and key messaging.
- Collaborate with HR and employee communications teams to create internal communication initiatives that align with Mattel’s reputation and strategic messaging.
- Manage Mattel’s LinkedIn presence for the APAC region, developing content that aligns with corporate communications goals and enhances the visibility of senior leadership.
- Amplify Mattel’s corporate responsibility and community engagement initiatives in the region, showcasing our commitment to creating positive impact.
Qualifications
The experience we are seeking for this role:
- Minimum of 7-8 years of experience in corporate communications, with a focus on PR in the APAC region. Experience in PR agency management is essential.
- Strong writing and storytelling capabilities with proven expertise in developing impactful media content. You must be a creative thinker and a strategic communicator with experience in crisis management and internal communications.
- Extensive media relationships and a deep understanding of both traditional and non-traditional media in the APAC region. Ability to manage external agencies and budgets.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise multiple projects while maintaining high-quality standards. Proven leadership qualities of collaboration, innovation, and execution.
- Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of an additional Asian language is a plus.
