The Opportunity: 

Are you an Electronics Engineer who loves to create interesting contraptions and make cool stuff? Here’s an opportunity to work with some of the finest designers and engineers in the toy industry, all supporting all Mattel brands including Barbie, Hot Wheels, Monster High, Matchbox and our Entertainment properties such as Jurassic World, Disney Princess and WWE.

What Your Impact Will Be: 

• Designing, prototyping, and troubleshooting analog and digital electronic circuits
• Taking ideas from concept through development and into production
• Ability to be a self-starter, self-motivating, self-directing, and self-managing and a strong team player
• Project managing and the ability to lead, multi-task and handle several projects simultaneously
• Building prototypes based on input from non-technical partners
• Effectively pitch toy concepts to peers and upper management
• Working with China-based and other global vendors
• Working with mechatronic / animatronic system design, TFT / OLED Displays, MEMS motion sensors & microphones, Wireless ICs (BT, WiFi, 2.4G), Microprocessors and Peripherals

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

• BS in Electrical Engineering is strongly preferred
• At least 2-3 years hands-on experience in design, prototyping, and troubleshooting analog and digital electronic circuits.
• Ability to effectively pitch toy concepts to peers and upper management
• Experience in product development within the toy industry
• Experience with China-based vendors
• Familiar with plastics
• Building prototypes based on input from non-technical partners
• Mechatronic / Animatronic system design
• TFT / OLED Displays
• MEMS motion sensors & microphones
• Wireless ICs (BT, WiFi, 2.4G)
• Microprocessors and Peripherals
• The vision and perseverance to take ideas from concept through development and into production
• Self-starter, self-motivating, self- directing, and self-managing and a strong team player
• Project management skills; the ability to lead, multi-task and handle several projects simultaneously
• Familiarity with any of the following: ARM, C, C++, Embedded Systems, or Audio/ Visual Assets
• Experience with electromechanical systems
• Proficiency with software development for embedded systems both with Assembly code and higher-level language a must
• Ability to work cross-functionally with Design, Project Management, and Packaging, etc
• Basic understanding of mechanical systems is highly desirable
• Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.

The annual base salary range for this position is between $66,400 and $83,000.
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
