As a team our marketing initiatives range from BTL activities to sophisticated multi-level retail activation including ATL support. We deliver programs aligned to our brand and sales strategy, via an omnichannel approach: in-store, online, social and print. Working with all major UK retailers and channels: Toy Specialist, Showcase, Grocery & Value and E-commerce. 

Job Description

The Opportunity

The role reports into the Associate Customer Marketing Manager and works in partnership with sales, brand and consumer products, collaborating as one team to support each other to achieve our aligned goals and vision. As a Customer Marketing Coordinator, you’ll be responsible for driving both trade and campaign marketing activations within your channel - supporting the sales team on the implementation of promotional plans.

 

The suitable candidate will be responsible for developing “Best-in-class” point of sale and executing retail marketing campaigns that offer our retailer partners distinct points of difference. Increasing conversion rates as the point of purchase. Working within brand guidelines and business objectives with the goal of delivering maximum impact and value at retail. Using shopper insights and campaign analysis to help drive profitable sales and competitive edge for both Mattel and our Customers.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the Associate Customer Marketing Manager with the management of key retail campaigns to drive sales towards achieving and exceeding UK revenue target.
  • Manage our VM agency and assist the sales team in the execution and delivery of trade marketing materials, including but not limited to point of sale/POP packs – FSDUs, CDUs, pallets, shelf-stripping, window posters etc.
  • Manage the merchandising agency on our key sales windows to improve retail compliance and report on performance to maximize sales
  • Regular dialogue with local brand teams to ensure brand priorities and NEW product launches are correctly supported at retail.
  • Style guide and asset collation for retail distribution, including brand marketing calendars for the season ahead highlighting key moments in time to drive sales.  
  • Manage on-going execution opportunities at retail to maximize short and long-term opportunities, across both trade and campaign activations.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders, building strong relationships internally & externally (retail & agencies) to maximise placement at retail to drive shopper impact.
  • Liaising regularly with ACMM to ensure plans and execution adhere to the overall strategy.
  • General customer marketing admin support from sample ordering and PO raising.  
  • Transform data and insight into retail opportunities to inform your approach. Whilst being open to creative innovation and exploration via test and learn.
  • Understand how to engage with consumers in a meaningful way to drive commercial growth. Combining creativity and effectiveness through a strong understanding of the retail landscape and user journeys, across multiple touchpoints to maximise sales growth & ROI during key trading windows - on and offline.
  • Support the creation of category, channel and retailer pitch decks for key customer meetings to aid sell-in. Optimize commercial opportunities with tailored customer marketing initiatives by channel/account that offer a USP

 

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • A minimum of 1-2+ years’ experience within shopper marketing or in an equivalent role: marketing, promotions agency or account management background
  • Educated to Degree level (or equivalent experience) in a relevant subject such as Digital Marketing, e-commerce, or business
  • A good understanding of retail/shopper marketing - experience in campaign trade marketing preferable with an Omnichannel lens
  • Someone who’s consumer centric and sees the importance in both brand and sales, with a strong understanding of the UK retail environment
  • A passion for all things retail, creative flare and desire to make shopper impact to drive growth opportunities across an omnichannel landscape
  • Demonstrate a good commercial understanding to be able to deliver strong ROI aligned to brand & business objectives
  • A team player is essential, cross departmental collaboration is integral to the role - must have the ability to work with multiple stakeholders at any one time and agile
  • Ability to stay ahead and think for the future, move alongside trends and consumer behaviors
  • Excellent communication and project management skills – written, verbal and presentation style
  • Highly organised and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience of the toy, game or entertainment industry is ideal but not essential
