Job Description

The Opportunity

As a Brand Manager, you will be a key member of the local marketing team, responsible for defining and executing marketing strategies at a local level while maintaining alignment with the global brand identity for your product range. This role ensures effective, creative, and efficient implementation of category strategies and marketing plans by collaborating with regional sales teams and agencies. You will also define product line architecture and select the best products to align with broader strategic directions, while accommodating local nuances and preferences. The position involves continuous measurement of brand success through KPI tracking (e.g., sales trends) and adjustment of brand strategies as necessary.

This position is based in Istanbul and part of the Mattel Turkey Marketing Team.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensure effective and impactful implementation of brand strategies and action plans.
  • Select product lines by channel/customer and manage product information, ensuring accurate translation and localization of creative assets.
  • Manage pricing (in accordance with regional guidelines) and quotas in collaboration with sales teams (P&L, margin, forecasting).
  • Monitor and review brand performance.
  • Collaborate with Media and Digital Marketing teams to optimize media strategy, leveraging key platforms and targeting the right audience to maximize global assets.
  • Define and manage the local marketing budget.
  • Drive execution of brand retail action plans in collaboration with trade marketing.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • Passion for the toy industry and familiarity with Mattel brands is essential.
  • Strong grasp of Brand Marketing & Commercial Understanding.
  • Understanding of Media & Digital Marketing concepts (digital funnel, social media, etc.).
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in deriving insights from data.
  • Collaborative approach with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Motivated, enthusiastic, and determined, with a proactive problem-solving attitude.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and push back when necessary. Strong project management skills are crucial.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's/master’s degree in marketing, Business Management, Economics, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in a Marketing role, preferably within FMCG, licensed consumer goods, apparel, or beauty industries.
  • Experience in an international/cross-cultural environment.
  • Fluency in English with excellent communication and writing skills.
