Job Description
The Opportunity:
We are seeking a motivated, passionate, collaborative, and detail-oriented Security Officer with experience in the security field to help protect Mattel’s employees, guest(s), product(s), and brands. The ideal candidate is a team player, has strong communication skills, and can organize & prioritize tasks.

This position is located at Mattel’s Fisher Price Campus in East Aurora, NY. This is primarily a third shift position and will include holiday and weekend work. The security officer may be required to work the first, second and third shifts, based on business needs.
Shift:
Wednesday-Sunday: 11:30PM-8:00AM
What Your Impact Will Be:
Physical Security
- Enforce Mattel Global Security Department’s Best Practices and adhere to US Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) program recommendations. This includes protecting Mattel’s physical property, assets, and personnel from theft, damage, harm, unlawful activities, etc.
- Completes security duties and related tasks as set forth in the Contingency Operations and SOP manuals under the direction of the Security Leader/Shift Supervisor and Security Supervisor.
- Perform administrative data entry duties as assigned by post orders standards (i.e. Guardhouse, Employee Entrance, Rover Patrol, Building Entrance, Satellite Site Patrol).
- Coordinates traffic control; visitor registration; and directing suppliers, contractors, and delivery persons; and answers phones (at specified locations).
- Completes mobile and foot patrols to monitor the campus for security and facilities-related concerns. Monitors the access control system, CCTV system, and the “guard tour” management system.
- Support IP (intellectual property) security controls
- Provide a high level of customer service to all Mattel employees, vendors, and visitors on property.
Safety
- Monitors the control panels for alarms and any problems with equipment. Reports any service/maintenance issues to designated personnel.
- Responsible for contacting Security Supervisor and/or designated personnel, as required, during emergency situations or as security issues arise. Completes applicable Incident Reports. Responds to environmental and first aid emergencies and facilitate the process. Transports the sick or injured for medical attention, if necessary.
- Monthly safety inspections on safety equipment.

Qualifications:
- One+ years of Security, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, Law Enforcement, or military background preferred.
- High school diploma or GED, required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must have a valid Security Guard License, (where required).
- Must be certified in First Aid, CPR, and Blood-borne Pathogens, OR be willing to obtain certification through training provided by Mattel (annual training provided).
- Must be able to work varying shifts including nights, holidays, and weekends.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business policies, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, and business correspondence, including detailed incident reports writing.
- Display exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to stand and walk, go up/downstairs and stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Outdoor post assignments (where applicable) may require an individual to withstand extreme heat, humidity, cold, and/or severe weather (e.g. snow, sleet, rain, hail, wind).
- Ability to use post-security equipment (handheld and walk-thru metal detectors, handheld radios, access control systems, CCTV).
The base hourly rate for this position is between $18.50 and $19.50.
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however base hourly rate will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
