Title and Summary
Vice President, Open Banking Product - Bank Connections

We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Product Vice President to join our dynamic Open Banking team at Mastercard. The successful candidate will lead our team of product professionals who manage the build, testing and maintainence of our API connections with third parties. They will also drive our connectivity strategy, helping to shape our approach in each market we enter.

All About the Role

1. Product Strategy
• Develop and grow Mastercard's open banking connectivity to over 3,000 banks across Europe, setting the strategy and priorities for new development and operational improvements
• Lead a modernisation programme of all European banking connections to deliver more effective and efficient bank connections that will integrate into our global open banking systems
• Maintain knowledge of industry development and regulations on open banking, open finance and open data connectivity and support build out our strategic prioritization to support initiatives such as PSD2, VRP, PSD3, and FIDA

2. Product Management
• Oversee the development and prioritisation of the development roadmap and operational priorities for bank connections, including:
oRequests for new connections
oNew API endpoints (including commercial APIs)
oScheduling regular connectivity updates as specified by the banks
oFixing issues identified through our own testing programmes or identified by clients
• Partner with our engineering teams to ensure timely delivery of the roadmap, balancing programme goals, client needs and long-term business sustainability
• Ensure plans for the connectivity platform align with Mastercard's objectives for scalable, flexible and market leading solutions

3. Testing and Optimization
• Oversee a proactive testing programme to ensure quality of overall connectivity service is increased and maintained
• Establish a methodology, tool set and network of testers that support delivery of market leading connections.
• Ensure that insights are developed and subsequently acted on to deliver significant improvements on conversion and user experience
• Utilise the power of our own Open Banking Financial Management Application (Spiir) to provide an on-going beta testing of all features and connections

4. Collaboration
• Foster a team culture where client requirements are identified and appropriately reflected in roadmap thinking.
• Ensure client facing assets (e.g., documentation, developer sites, contracts) are maintained, improved, and updated as new features are developed
• Design and implement connectivity reporting in line with overall IMK Open Banking requirements, Mastercard standards and any regulatory obligations
• Act as the connectivity subject matter expert with broader Mastercard teams, clients and in industry forums
• Guide, mentor and develop a team of Product Managers and Product Analysts
• Contribute to the wider evolution of the IMK Open Banking Product & Engineering team through participation and leadership in key strategic projects
All About You

Skills and experience required for this role are:
• Successful product development and/or product management leadership experience (5+ years)
• First-hand knowledge of Open Banking (5 years +)
• Knowledge of APIs and their use in the context of products
• Product Management experience with business or consumer facing applications or technology services
• Strong people management skills, ideally managing large product teams
• Experience in agile product development and methodologies
• Expertise in product development tooling and product roadmap best practices
• Experience across the full software development lifecycle
• Successful collaboration across an organisation with internal colleagues and third-party suppliers (e.g. IT, Operations, legal, finance and marketing)
• Strong project / programme management, analytical skills and financial literacy
• Attention to detail and a 'right first time' approach.
• Ability to influence at all levels within the business
• The ability to work under pressure in a cross-functional global team.
• Knowledge of PSD2 legislation is preferred
• Experience in banking, payments and/or FinTech sectors is preferred
• Experience of engaging/ managing external customers is preferred
