Overview:
The Senior Specialist, Small Business Core Product will be part of the North American Small Business Segment team which is responsible for advancing Mastercard small business efforts throughout the United States and Canada.

The North America Small Business team supports small business owners as well as our issuing and cobrand through a holistic needs-based, customer-centric approach. We are a highly cross-functional team that is focused on growing Mastercard's footprint in the small business space and providing our customers with best-in-class solutions to help them better serve their small business cardholders.

The Senior Specialist will play a critical role in the evolution of our core product strategy as we evolve. They will be responsible for driving the execution of innovative solutions that represent the next frontier of our card product business, with a focus on capturing new segments, new flows, and integrating beyond card/digital solutions into the core roadmap.

We are looking for a motivated self-starter with a strong sense of urgency who can think creatively, execute reliably, and work cross-functionally.

Role:
• Contribute to the definition of new card innovation workstreams and assist in the development of a go-to-market plan that will help Mastercard gain market share in SMB and drive revenue.
• Own the execution of these workstreams in collaboration with cross-functional Mastercard stakeholders (i.e. Legal, Marketing, Franchise, Loyalty, Cyber and Intelligence, sales etc.) to ensure alignment and foster strong collaboration across business units.
• In coordination with Finance, help to quantify the opportunity for individual concepts through business case development and ROI validation
• Own the product value proposition for Small Business debit. Conduct research and interpret trends to make recommendations for enhancements, socialize with stakeholders and leadership, lead the implementation and socialization with Mastercard customers.
• Maintain current research on competitive landscape trends and help to identify potential third-party partners.
• Support core product operational and strategic needs across small business credit, debit, and prepaid (e.g., performance analysis, optimization support, and development of key materials such as guide to benefits, product matrices, etc.).
Create compelling go-to-market materials and socialize with sales teams and customers for their input
• Present to customer account teams, customers, and external partners as applicable.
• Support ongoing marketing needs as they relate to our merchant benefits and product `strategy refreshes.
• Communicate the evolution of our product line strategy to senior leadership as applicable.

All About You:
• A team player who is proactive and can work independently, operating through periods of ambiguity
• Excellent written and verbal communicator with superb analytical skills; must be able to synthesize complex information to distill key messages for senior audiences, both internal and external to Mastercard.
• Proven project management skills, with the ability to craft strategies, define workplans, and execute successfully while balancing many priorities.
• Strong ability to build effective cross-functional relationships and serve as an internal advocate for North America small business.
• Can-do attitude and deep sense of intellectual curiosity.
• Demonstrated knowledge of payments, credit/debit/prepaid card products, and/or the fintech landscape.
• Knowledge of (and passion for) the small business space is a plus.

• Bachelor's degree required.

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
