This role is situated within Services within Mastercard is responsible for acquiring, engaging, and retaining customers by managing fraud and risk, enhancing cybersecurity, and improving the digital payments experience. We provide value-added services and leverage expertise, data-driven insights, and execution.
Overview
The Platform Engineering team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer, DevOps to support our continued growth and success by scaling, modernizing, supporting, and advancing our Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery strategies to build, test, deploy, package, and release software rapidly to production.
Role
You will:
Provide infrastructure platform, services, and tooling to support the development scrum teams
Build automation, processes, and frameworks to automate provisioning of infrastructure and platform
Work closely with agile teams, collaborating with Developers, Product Owners and Operations on defining requirements, design, and implementation
Drive consistency, where needed, across scrum teams in delivering product in a repeatable, reliable, and secure manner
Bridge any knowledge gaps between Operations and Development teams
Work efficiently with an exceptional attention to detail around a high security environment (PCI-DSS Level 1 certified environment that must satisfy multiple audit requirements across several third-party auditors)
All About You
Essential Knowledge and Experience:
Excellent knowledge of build and deployment tooling such as Jenkins pipelines, git, Nexus / Artifactory
Excellent knowledge in writing Chef automation code, both infrastructure and application deployment cookbooks
Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to convey knowledge, explain technical problems, and influence outcomes
Passion to go out of your way to understand challenges or opportunities looking to delivery impactful solutions
Desirable Skills:
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Azure
Good knowledge of platform services such as compute, storage, network, load balancing, DNS, and middleware (i.e., Vault, Kafka, Zookeeper) in VMWare and Azure environments
Advanced knowledge in security best practices including managing and storing secrets, tokens, certificates, and other sensitive data, hardening, and securing OS images
