Overview
We are currently seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer in Vancouver to join our growing team as we push the boundaries of AI deployment, scalability, and infrastructure optimization. In this role, you will take a leadership position, collaborating with software engineers, architects, and other cross-functional teams to design, implement, and oversee high-performance cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and monitoring systems for our AI products. You will also mentor junior team members and establish best practices for the team.

Role
• Architect and lead the design of scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure to support
mission-critical AI applications.
• Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines to automate and streamline deployment processes across multiple environments.
• Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and improve system performance to meet reliability and availability SLAs.
• Design and implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools, ensuring consistent and repeatable environments.
• Lead incident response efforts, including root cause analysis, to minimize downtime and prevent future issues.
• Ensure infrastructure is designed with best practices for security, compliance, and scalability.
• Mentor and guide junior team members, providing technical leadership and fostering a culture of collaboration and learning.
• Collaborate with software engineers to integrate DevOps practices into the development lifecycle, ensuring seamless handoffs and reliable deployments.
• Implement robust logging, monitoring, and alerting systems using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or ELK Stack.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging DevOps trends and technologies, and identify opportunities to adopt new tools or methodologies.

All About You

• Strong expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS (preferred), GCP, or Azure, including hands-on experience with services like EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, and networking components.
• Proficiency in containerization (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Helm).
• Proven ability to design and maintain enterprise-grade CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
• Expert knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles and tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Deep understanding of monitoring and logging frameworks such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or ELK Stack, and experience implementing alerting systems.
• Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Advanced knowledge of networking, system administration, and security practices.
• Experience with incident response and root cause analysis in complex, distributed systems.
• Proven track record of mentoring and leading teams, fostering collaboration, and driving continuous improvement.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Bonus Points...
• Experience with hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
• Expertise in configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• Familiarity with AI or data-intensive systems and their unique infrastructure challenges.
• Advanced Kubernetes experience, including designing and managing large-scale clusters.
• Certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or similar.
