Program Overview:
The Sustainability and Innovations (S&I) Emerging Solutions (ES) area strengthens customer connection to the Mastercard brand while promoting doing good. The Donation Platform APIs are part of this strategy, offering a new way for issuers to integrate donation features into banking channels, enhancing brand loyalty and making it easier for consumers to contribute to causes despite time or financial constraints.
Role:
The ES Team is looking for a Manager, Technical Program Management responsible Technical Program Management (TPM) for leading a global team of individual contributors who are conceptualizing, rationalizing, and driving multiple simultaneous projects to deliver engineering work. This involves overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of complex technical projects or programs, typically within software, hardware, or IT infrastructure development. A Technical Program Manager (TPM) bridges the gap between engineering teams and business stakeholders, ensuring that projects meet technical requirements, deadlines, and goals while aligning with broader business strategies.
In this role, you will:
• Works across teams to organize and accelerate delivery, ensuring all teams are delivering in a coordinated manner 2
• Tracks and manages manifest definitions, release integration, timing, scope and delivery
Provides ongoing updates (with data) on the state of delivery 4
• Proactively manages all dependencies, ensuring all outputs are production ready at launch
• Drive overall strategy and teams inside and outside of your organization to deliver the expected results
• Develop and communicate a vision that supports the broader departmental and organizational vision
• Deep understanding of the platform, the integration patterns, the organizational capabilities, and the company wide assets that can be leveraged to provide technical solutions to customer problems
• Continuously monitor and analyze key performance indicators on the organization's score card and move them in a positive direction
• Stay on top of tactical execution rigorously inspecting the delivery plans and execution metrics of your TPMs
• Adapt to shifting goals and activities while managing multiple activities in parallel
• Manage escalations
• Actively encourage the development of your technical staff
• Drives execution of an outcome from inception through successful delivery
• Keeps abreast of evolving technology landscape.
• Understands the needs of the engineers and technical operations teams who have to build, maintain, and operate the services and technical assets
• Regularly review metrics and proactively seek out new and improved data/mechanisms for visibility ensuring your program stays aligned with organization objectives
• Plays an active role in mentoring and recruiting others as well as ensuring your teams knowledge gaps are managed
All About You:
• Demonstrated ability to operate with independence and autonomy
• Experience defining and building cloud-native software products as a platform at scale with a deep understanding of those platforms capabilities and underlying technologies.
• Demonstrated experience breaking down problems, organizing work, planning sprints, and delivering technical programs in agile delivery models (scrum, Kanban, etc.)
• Experience working on programs to define and build cloud-native software products as a platform at scale
• Enjoys diving deep to understand of the platforms capabilities and underlying technologies.
• Proven track record of data driven decision-making and applying continuous improvement methodologies across teams
• Can debate the delivery strategy with business teams, architects, engineers, and designers
• Can communicate to executives, peers, and staff with impact, eloquence, and authenticity
• Demonstrated experience building relationships, partnering with and influencing dependent teams while commanding the respect of the individuals you work with across the organization
• Huge plus if you have expertise in Payments, IaaS, PaaS, serverless technology, CI/CD, NoSQL databases, microservices APIs, and distributed systems operations in a DevOps model
• BS in engineering, computer science or related discipline.
• Technical program delivery experience including time developing and testing software
