• The Retail and Commerce China team is looking for a Business Development Manager, for merchant verticals such as airline, hotel, travel agency, retail, E-commerce and other new areas. The main goal of this role is to create short and long-term strategies for building client relationships, generating new business, and driving revenue growth. The ideal candidate is passionate about the payment industry, highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Merchants Development is the enhancement of Mastercard's position with strategic merchants by forging closer business alliances and enhancing Mastercard position through partnership in cobrand, acceptance, payment innovation, B2B new payment flow and services.

Role
• Nature ability to identify and hunt business opportunities. Expand merchant partner network to support sustainable business growth while aligned with organization's strategy
• Act as key contact for the client, key stakeholders, and the business for managed merchants;
• Work closely with the China team, regional team and other functional teams to drive business development and achieve target
• Provides input for long-term growth strategies to optimize mutual profitability across business lines.
• Assist all team members in becoming the best versions of themselves by acting as a coach and resource to assist them accomplish their goals.
• Look at everything through the eyes of the customer and see their need in their financial products
• Identify market trends

All About You

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Business Development and structured negotiation skills required
• Sufficient analytic and project management skills
• Solid interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in team environment and ability to effectively coordinate with peers, and ability to work in a matrix organization
• Good knowledge of card and payments industry, travel or retail related experience is preferred
• Self-starter mentality required and work well in a matrix management environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English
