Manager, AI Product & Strategy

Overview: Mastercard, a global leader in payments and technology, is seeking an AI Product & Strategy Manager to lead the development and implementation of AI solutions within our Foundational AI team. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution, thriving in cross-functional environments where technical understanding and stakeholder management are key. You will drive the vision, roadmap, and execution of internal AI initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional technical and business teams to deliver value.

This role is situated within Services within Mastercard is responsible for acquiring, engaging, and retaining customers by managing fraud and risk, enhancing cybersecurity, and improving the digital payments experience. We provide value-added services and leverage expertise, data-driven insights, and execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Execution
• Drive strategic vision and roadmap for internal AI products and platforms
• Define success metrics and prioritization frameworks
• Identify and validate new AI opportunities across the enterprise
• Balance technical feasibility with business value
• Guide initiatives from conception through deployment and iteration

Technical Collaboration & Implementation
• Partner with data science and ML engineering teams
• Contribute to technical architecture and implementation decisions
• Support scalable deployment of AI solutions
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear business value propositions

Stakeholder Management & Communication
• Build and maintain relationships with key business stakeholders
• Present strategies and results to executive leadership
• Drive alignment across Product, Engineering, Architecture, and Business Operations
• Develop business cases and ROI analyses for new initiatives
• Create and maintain strategic documentation and communication frameworks

Program Coordination
• Coordinate multiple concurrent AI initiatives and work-streams
• Support sprint prioritization
• Track and report on key performance metrics
• Drive change management strategies
• Enable successful deployment and adoption of AI solutions

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience driving technical initiatives, preferably with AI exposure
• Experience working with technical teams on complex initiatives
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts and their business applications
• Proven track record of delivering measurable business impact through technical solutions
• Experience with agile development methodologies
• Working knowledge of SQL and data analysis concepts
• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience in payments or financial services is a plus
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or related field

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
