The Communications team is focused on driving programs and activities that evolve, promote and protect Mastercard's reputation among key internal and external audiences. The broader team has been designed to closely mirror the business, align to corporate and business-level objectives and support the company's efforts in delivering world-class payments experiences.

The Director of Communications within the Global Commercial & New Payment Flows (CNPF) organization will be focused on developing strategic communications programs and campaigns to advance Mastercard's reputation as a trusted, purpose-driven business. The role will focus on delivering strategic external and internal communications program for the company's commercial and new payments flows business and leadership, including highly visible focus areas of Mastercard's business including Corporate Solutions, Small & Medium Enterprise Solutions and Transfer Solutions.

Responsibilities will encompass a full spectrum of integrated, cross-business communications activities including executive profiling and internal communications, media relations, digital strategy & social media activation, content creation, and events management. The role will also support communications activities to enhance the CNPF business globally and in partnership with the regions.

The candidate will be a strategic leader with a record of strong executive presence and organizational leadership to drive communications strategy and highly visible programming in partnership with senior leaders and business partners. A knowledge and interest in technology, innovation in payments, and B2B services is strongly encouraged.

Responsibilities:

Work in collaboration with the Senior Vice President, Communications for Commercial & New Payment Flows (CNPF) and the broader Global Communications team to develop progressive, integrated communications and marketing strategies to advance the company's mission, and evolve, promote and protect Mastercard's brand and reputation.

• Build and enhance Mastercard's commercial products business reputation and proposition through clear and impactful communications, events and social media engagement.
• Develop storytelling initiatives and messaging to showcase the business strategy, product innovations and partnerships.
• Be a strategic advisor and partner to top leadership and the business teams, and coordinate resources across multiple project initiatives and teams.
• Lead the external profile-building and communications programming across the CNPF growth pillar. Drive simple storytelling to tell a comprehensive story to capture positive share of voice in the market.
• Proactively build, manage, and strengthen relationships with key financial services, payments and tech top-tier and trade media, influencers, and industry analysts to support product/service launches and raise executive profiles.
• Partner across regions to provide global messaging and positioning guidance, and administer key governance process for emerging tech and payments products
• Provide messaging and logistical support for internal communications events, such as town halls, fireside chats, and panel discussions.
• Use measurement tools to assess the impact of communications programs to refine activities.
• Work alongside the digital communications team to drive a paid, earned, and owned approach for external announcements and storytelling.

Qualifications:

You are a motivated, critical thinker, with an affinity for technology, innovative ways to pay such as crypto/digital assets and curious on what's next in payments. In addition, you are comfortable with technical products and solutions and demonstrate interest to drive communications strategies closely aligned to Mastercard's core payments business as well as beyond the card. You are a clear, strategic writer, capable of distilling complex arguments and propositions into accessible and compelling narratives. And you are a passionate leader and manager with deep attention to detail, motivated by metrics-led success, and a true partnership with the business and its leadership.

• Experience leading teams to drive end-to-end events management, sponsorships, and industry conferences

• Solid understanding of balancing and prioritizing needs of multiple stakeholders

• Demonstrated track record of media relationships and placements

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
