Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Director of Strategic Marketing to lead the development of strategic marketing initiatives to drive engagement and growth for Mastercard's B2B customers.
Director of Strategic Marketing is in charge of leading Mastercard Japan's marketing efforts in product, acceptance, merchant partnership, cross-border marketing activities, and ESG programs. This role requires strong experience in developing business cases, managing budgets and vendors, and advancing an agenda with complex requirements and business objectives. In addition, this role is critical to build a strong marketing platform where issuers, merchants, and our cardholders synergize to create shared value.

The candidate should have a proven track record of success in B2B marketing, a strategic mindset, and a passion for driving growth. He/she will be a leader in the development and execution of B2B and B2B2C marketing initiatives, possess strong communication skills, and have an innate ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders. He/ she will also have a passion for driving creative and impactful campaigns that align with Mastercard's mission to drive a world beyond cash. The successful candidate should have the following qualifications:

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field
• At least 10 years of proven experience leading B2B marketing initiatives
• Ability to think creatively and strategically in order to build strong business narratives and modeling
• Experience in developing and executing strategic marketing campaigns
• Strong knowledge of digital marketing tools, tactics, and platforms
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills both in Japanese and English
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of the financial and payment services industry and trends
• Experience with global organizations

Responsibilities:

• Lead the strategic development of marketing initiatives to drive engagement and growth for Mastercard's B2B issuer customers and merchant partners.
• Develop and execute creative marketing campaigns that align with Mastercard's mission to drive a world beyond cash.
• Create experiences O2O and manage marketing programs on digital platforms.
• Analyze and monitor marketing performance and adjust strategies accordingly while maximizing ROI.
• Utilize data-driven insights to inform creative marketing decisions.
• Provide reports and insights to key stakeholders on the performance of B2B marketing initiatives.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key customers and partners.
• Create and implement strategies to increase consumer engagement and loyalty.
• Monitor industry trends and consumer behaviors for opportunities to increase B2B sales.
• Manage budget and agency relationships efficiently.
