Overview of Role
As the Climate Resilience Manager at Mastercard, you will be a key contributor within our Real Estate Services division, reporting directly to the Physical Climate Risk and Resiliency Director. This role is primarily focused on identifying, implementing, and tracking the effectiveness of climate resilience projects across our real estate portfolio. You will lead efforts to enhance our portfolio's resilience to climate-related risks, both current and future, by leveraging innovative approaches, including nature-based solutions.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in shaping Mastercard's overall climate resilience strategy. This includes ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies and driving the adoption of best practices across the organization. You will also collaborate extensively with interdisciplinary teams-such as Workplace Safety, Enterprise Resilience, and Enterprise Risk Management-and forge strategic external partnerships aimed at bolstering the resilience and safety of our employees and the communities we serve.
Your success in this role will require excellent presentation and communication skills to effectively convey complex climate risk and adaptation information to both internal and external stakeholders. You will also need to think creatively about climate resilience strategies, integrating nature-based solutions where applicable.
Role:
• Identify, implement, and track climate resilience projects across the real estate portfolio, focusing on long-term risks.
• Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to develop and execute strategies that address climate-related challenges, emphasizing nature-based solutions to enhance community resilience.
• Forge and maintain external partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders to strengthen the security and safety of our employees and the communities we serve.
• Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in climate resilience, sustainability, and nature-based solutions.
• Support the Physical Climate Risk and Resiliency Director in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to climate resilience.
All About You:
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, geography, sustainability, urban planning, or a related field.
• Experience in climate change adaptation, community resilience, or a related field is preferred, with a strong emphasis on nature-based solutions.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to simplify and convey complex information to diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in visualization software such as SimpleShow, GIS, Tableau, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with physical and transition risks associated with climate change, particularly in a real estate context.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Other Key Attributes:
• Proficiency in Climate Data Analysis: Ability to interpret and apply climate data to inform decision-making for real estate and infrastructure projects.
• Risk Assessment Skills: Capable of conducting and applying risk assessments to prioritize projects that mitigate long-term climate impacts.
• Strategic Planning: Experience in long-term planning for climate adaptation, balancing immediate project needs with future climate risks.
• Knowledge of Nature-Based Solutions: Familiarity with sustainable, nature-driven approaches to enhance resilience within the built environment.
• Technical Expertise in Resilient Infrastructure: Understanding of climate-resilient infrastructure and design principles, with an ability to integrate them into projects.
• Regulatory and Policy Awareness: Understanding of relevant climate adaptation policies, building codes, and environmental regulations.

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
