Title and Summary

Accountant

Overview:
• Responsible for financial accounting, financial reporting and operating activities
• Activities at the junior levels include settlement accounting; accounts receivable; fixed assets; and at the senior levels preparing budgets and financial reports; conducting financial analyses; and making recommendations to senior management
• The Controller should have oversight and controls in place around the accounting and business processes and assure the accuracy and timely completion of all accounting transactions

Role:
• Performs accounting activities (e.g., reconciliations, journal entries) in accordance with accounting principles and standards to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws and reporting requirements
• May assists with internal financial reporting, performs comprehensive trend analysis and data mining; assesses for completeness
• Executes and supports internal and external controls
• Makes suggestions for process improvements to supervisor
• Assists in supporting the business partner relationship, including performing any ad-hoc analysis and reporting

• Demonstrates knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting and delivers accurate and timely work
• Gains exposure to reviewing and analyzing own work for appropriate accounting treatment
• Experience performing process improvement activities
• Experience identifying and resolving basic issues in a timely manner
• Gains exposure to accounting control principles
• Experience building an internal network and relationships with business partners
• May produce and review internal and external reports (e.g., reports to Business Partners, Finance Leaders)
