The Opportunity

The Cash Operations' Payments Team is responsible for the daily management of MassMutual's payment functions, including wire transfers, ACH and check processing. The Cash Management Consultant position will act as a member on the team who has responsibilities for analyzing team processes, implementing controls, resolving issues, and project work, in addition to their daily production responsibilities. This role reports to the Director of Cash Management and is instrumental in helping MassMutual manage the efficient and timely processing of payments and internal support.

As a Cash Management Consultant, you will work with all areas of the company, experiencing and supporting all the cash flows, from the time revenue is coming into the company all the way through to the supporting investments. The Impact

The Cash Management Consultant of the Payments Team will have an impact on helping the company achieve its goals by facilitating critical payments to our policyholders, employees, vendors, and investment partners. In addition to providing customer service to all the groups listed above. Specifically, the position will include:

  • Initiate, review and monitor wire transfers-foreign and USD for the enterprise, utilizing the various online banking platforms
  • Process ACH NACHA payment files for all lines of business
  • Manage check printing requests/check deposits/returned items for USD and foreign
  • Assist and train internal clients regarding the various payment structures, approvals and payment processes (including the company's payment system TCC)
  • Research and communicate with banks and internal parties regarding wire transfer and ACH inquiries issues such as investigations, returns and/or delays in processing
  • Participate and/or lead problem solving and process improvement projects
  • Adhere to governance and internal control procedures and maintain and consistently improve upon a strong control environment.
  • May be required to work occasional overtime or some MassMutual holidays when banks are open (e.g. Good Friday)


The Minimum Qualifications
  • 1+ yr(s) of Industry Knowledge: Insurance, Treasury, or Payments
  • Associate Degree in Accounting or Finance or 2+ years of experience in banking or treasury services or finance.


The Ideal Qualifications
  • Insurance payment processing experience (wires, checks, or ACH)
  • Familiarity with cash/bank management systems, Treasury Management Systems (TMS) a plus
  • Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) or Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) certification
  • SAP

  • Effective Communicator: Knowing your customers, organizational and analytical skills

  • Experience in best-in-class control execution/documentation
