Senior Customer Manager - Chewy

Job Description:

The Senior Customer Manager role exists to ensure the Chewy business delivers on its objectives. We're tasked with driving GSV and NSV growth, share growth, improving investment efficiency, and helping the organization reach its annual financial targets. The person in this role will be our primary owner of day-to-day business responsibilities for the enterprise Chewy relationship, as well as ownership of the main meal portfolio from a Category perspective. The person in this role will play a critical role in the enterprise strategy for our Chewy business.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 7+ years of Consumer Packaged Goods industry experience
  • 2+ years of experience in selling direct to an eCommerce retailer
  • In lieu of eCommerce experience, 5+ years of experience direct selling will be considered
  • Successful experience building collaborative relationships both internally and with Customers
  • Ability to understand complex data sources to develop and influence Customer strategies
  • Bachelors Degree

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Leading Our Operation: Our Chewy business is fast-changing and dynamic. There are a large number of internal stakeholders across multiple functions that this role will work with. An ability to unify our resources, clarify our direction, make difficult decisions, and get the results we need consistently is essential. This person will be tasked with primary ownership of the processes that guide our operation.
  • Customer Management: This role is responsible for owning the enterprise relationship with Chewy, along with management of multiple category contacts to drive the business from a category perspective. This person should have a history of positive, collaborative customer relationships as well as a willingness to have difficult conversations when necessary.
  • Forecasting Acumen: This person will be the owner of the Chewy forecast for their respective categories which fuels our call to the leadership team, and the signal we provide to our demand and supply teams.
  • Budget Management: This role will require significant trade and shopper budget oversight, with multiple stakeholders that manage a portion of our total budget. Experience with managing investment rate at a large customer or eCommerce retailer will be important.
  • Collaboration With Cross-Functional Partners: This role will require meaningful time spent working with internal partners in finance, marketing, sales strategy, as well as local team members in category and supply. An ability to build relationships and foster collaboration is crucial.
  • Terms Negotiations: This person will play a significant role in annual terms negotiations with Chewy, serving as the key point of contact for both internal stakeholder management as well as negotiating with the Customer.
  • Presentation Skills: Comfort making presentations with small-to-medium sized audiences, as well as to members of senior leadership, are essential and will often be a part of this person's workload.
