Are you an experienced Operator looking for your next challenge? If so, here at Mars we now have an exciting opportunity for a Sr.Operator to come and join our factory team! If you have a mechanical background and are looking for the opportunity to lead a passionate team of associates whilst also being given the chance to develop and progress personally then look at the below!

In service of the site strategy and delivery of the day-to-day metrics the job holder will maintain operational standards and production processes being responsible for the minute-to-minute co-ordination, decision-making, and driving of the manufacturing operation. To ensure the quality of our products meet the Brand specifications, able to make quality and process decisions during manufacture to ensure food safety and quality is met. The Sr. Operator will also role model the ownership mind sets and behaviors and support and coach up to 40 associates and contractors during the shift time frame.

What are we looking for?

  • Educated to GCSE level (O level in Maths & English).Two A levels or equivalent i,e NVQ
  • Mechanical training or background is a must.
  • Experience leading / coordinating a small team of associates - again desirable.
  • Experience in FMCG / High speed production - desirable.
  • Team player / Proactively in looking for improvements within the packaging department
  • Engaged associate willing to take on new task apart from his daily duties
  • Motivated associate / Great work ethic / Models the Mars Principles on and off the floor
  • Willing to work overtime when needed early and late
  • Great communication amongst all 2nd shift Departments
  • Willing to cover as a Back-up shift Manager in the future after training is complete

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Continuously monitors and where applicable coaches operators to ensure ROC sheets provide clear and accurate data including Timings, Issue, Actions, Technical Input and where possible Root Cause
  • Ensures JTMs take place and the correct people attend
  • Ensures standard running conditions are always met & represents operations in Daily and lead Weekly FMOS meetings as required
  • Creates weekly crewing plan to ensure non-core running crew are allocated tasks eg. Hygiene, Quality, Ownership, TMS and Safety
  • Ensure QSSM compliance throughout factory and issue QSSM amendments as required whilst liaising with R&D.
