Global Quality Risk Management Lead

Job Description:

The Global Quality Risk Management Lead provides governance over the Holistic Quality Risk Management (HQRM) process for the Global Food and Nutrition segment. HQRM is a process to increase awareness on quality risks and proactively manage them as a business thereby preventing threats or leveraging opportunities. Additionally, the role will support the creation of quality management frameworks for new business models in the segment which are not addressed by existing approaches.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor/ Master's degree in food science, food safety, microbiology, risk management or related field.
  • At least 5 years' experience of working in Food factories, preferably with operational management, quality management
  • Knowledge and experience on ISO 31000:2018 and related norms
  • Expert knowledge of Food Safety Management Systems and HACCP
  • Strong knowledge in food manufacturing processes and factory clean design
  • Fluent Oral and Written English

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Develops, deploys, maintains, and governs the Holistic Quality Risk Management process for the Global Food and Nutrition segment to ensure risks are identified, assessed, prioritized, treated, and monitored. Owns and maintains the Risk Register for Global Food and Nutrition.
  • Provides expert support in managing the Quality Risks and Opportunities process to all units within the segment.
  • Supports the implementation of asset health check (AHC) program and identifies opportunities for improvement.
  • Provides input into the CAB process, ensuring continuous improvement and standard gaps are considered in the allocation of funds across the sites.
  • Supports large site engineering projects, to ensure all Q&FS requirements are met.
  • Acts as segment functional expert (FE) in Mars HQRM IT tool (RSA Archer) and influences its enhancements and continuous Improvement to meet Food business needs.
  • Onboards, trains, and calibrates associates in HQRM process and Archer tool to ensure its consistent application across the business.
  • Develops the framework and tools to build a culture of risk management across Food and Nutrition quality and business partners as appropriate. Supports the business through consultancy, development of tools for risk-based decision making and delivery of risk management competency needs.
  • Identifies potential quality risks and opportunities for new business acquisitions made by Global Food and Nutrition by developing a thorough understanding of the new business model (organization, processes, purpose).
  • Tracks the impact and success of HQRM to business outcomes. Provides input into the Segment ERM process for Quality risks. Designs and delivers reports to key stakeholders, including senior leaders, with risk related insights that are fact based and actionable. As appropriate, provides recommendations.
  • Participates in cross-segment and cross-regional HQRM related forums as needed to represent global Food and Nutrition. Benchmarks segment process against externally developed best practices to ensure the Global Food and Nutrition approach to HQRM remains relevant and effective.
  • Supports the qualification of new external manufacturers.
  • Provides Q&FS support in completing MRA's.
  • Standard subject matter expert (SME) for Q&FS standards (e.g. FMMS and Food Defence)
    • Input into standard/procedure/tool development
    • Consult on new/revised document finalization
    • Input into training materials (maybe deliver training)
    • Provide feedback on cross-segment and Corporate document development to the Food Quality Team
    • Input into compliance action plans
    • Support incidents
  • Knowledge management:
  • Explore and assess knowledge management practices inside and outside Mars, as well as expectations of quality systems in this area, to understand practices, trends, methodologies, and tools that can benefit Food segment Quality.
  • Develop the prioritised roadmap of knowledge management initiatives needed to establish the knowledge management program, considering quality risk and opportunities.
  • Develop knowledge management practices and tools, from explicit to tacit knowledge in scope, and engages and trains users to adopt them. These will include:
    • Develop and deploy tools and systems to allow users to self-serve to find knowledge or experts.
    • Identify or develop the processes for systematic gathering of specific knowledge.
    • Design the operating model for Quality Communities of Practice (CoP's) for a consistent approach for knowledge management in groups that share, learn, and are held together by common interests in the scope of Quality.
    • Identify the need for and develop approaches for the Transfer of Best Practice, by facilitating knowledge sharing and internal benchmarking
    • Track the impact and success of knowledge management activities to business outcomes
