The Role
We are seeking a Senior Kubernetes Engineer to join our team. We are the driving force behind the company’s containerization strategy which covers private & public cloud (AWS). Our goal is to operate and enhance a modern cloud-native platform that spans across clouds and simplifies infrastructure needs for our teams. We operate and build the foundations that enable our teams to build trading applications which move billions of dollars each day. You should be passionate about technology, specifically Kubernetes, quality, and innovatively addressing business problems. You will work with the team to collaborate on solutions that will affect our mission critical workloads by setting standards, building best practices, automations and ensuring operational excellence of existing and new systems. How You’ll Help Take Us There
- Enhancing our platform capabilities such as Kubernetes as a Service, multi-region cluster support & fail-over and SRE practices
- Operating Kubernetes clusters for application teams
- Build & deliver the infrastructure and capabilities needed to enable application engineers to develop software according to cloud native principles
- Develop and scale engineering best practices for containerized applications across the organization through automations, infrastructure and policy as code
- Partner and collaborate with IT Infrastructure, Networking, Security, Application, and Data Engineering teams
- Focus on improving the user experience for Kubernetes users and iteratively working towards higher degrees of usability and automation
- Relentlessly obsess over how we build, enhance and maintain the trust of the platform users
- Collaborate with Product and Program Managers to maximize the value we deliver to the firm's technology organization
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of operating Kubernetes in Production
- 3+ years of hands-on experience designing, building, deploying, and automating infrastructure & platform services in Public Clouds (AWS preferred, GCP, and Azure) using Infrastructure as Code
- Real world experience with distributed systems, especially Kubernetes; ideally experience with both cloud and/or on-premises Kubernetes deployments
- Familiarity with GitOps, Automation and DevSecOps Pipeline tools
- Experience with IaC tools like Terraform, Helm, Kustomize
- Experience with Service Mesh (e.g. Istio)
- Strong knowledge in at least one language: Java, C#, Python, JavaScript
- Advanced level of Linux OS understanding and scripting skills
- Experience with Prometheus, Grafana and other monitoring tools
- Knowledge and experience with service-oriented architecture and event streaming (e.g., Confluent / Kafka) and caching platforms (e.g., Redis)
- Understanding of Agile software development practices and operational excellence
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject
- Bonus, experience with: EKS, EKS-Anywhere

For job positions in NYC, NY, and other locations where required, the estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is £105,000 GBP to £130,000 GBP. Actual salary may vary depending on job-related factors, which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. You may also be eligible for annual cash incentives, equity, and other benefit programs.
