The Role
MarketAxess Open Trading creates a centralized, all-to-all corporate bond & emerging markets marketplace that helps to increase overall market liquidity by vastly expanding the number of potential trading counterparties.
The Open Trading Desk offers day-to-day trade facilitation, specialist trade support and trade issue resolution to European Open Trading customers. Additionally, the Desk provides a key relationship management role and is actively involved in helping Client & Dealer sales teams to develop the business.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Join the Open Trading (OT) desk to support trade facilitation across the MarketAxess platform
- Collaborate with sales, product and marketing to promote the OT business with a focus on growing dealer flow via our dealer-initiated protocols
- Seek out new sources of market liquidity and analyse opportunities to help innovate new products, protocols and strategies
- Assist in prompt resolution of trade issues and trade disputes, working closely with legal, compliance and settlement teams to ensure smooth running of the platform
- Be accountable when choosing the appropriate process and escalation paths for difficult trading issues
- Demonstrate competence with reporting tools to monitor trading activity and present to management on a regular basis
- Work closely with the Trade Facilitation teams in London, APAC and NY to ensure seamless client/dealer coverage across time zones
What We’re Looking for
- 5+ years of experience, ideally working on a sales/trading/broking desk
- Strong product knowledge in Fixed Income
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
- Candidates should have a focused work ethic and be operate with a high degree of diligence
- A strong team ethic is critical. Personal gravitas and accountability
- An engaging persona and ability to deal with stressful situations in fast moving markets
- A proactive mindset to sourcing new business from our clients and dealers
