Onboarding Specialist

Role Purpose:

Reporting to the Sr. Manager of People Operations, the Onboarding Specialist is a key member of the People Operations team. The ideal candidate will establish strong trusting relationships with all levels of leadership. The Onboarding Specialist is responsible for leading the new hire onboarding process and supports recruiters, hiring managers, People Partners, and new employees throughout the process.

Accountabilities & Impact:

  • Manages the end-to-end process for New Hire Orientation including all pre-hire activities through to week 1 of New Hire Orientation.
  • Proactively manage the incoming new employee lists to hit target dates and ensure deliverables are met by maintaining various trackers and spreadsheets and follow up on pending details accordingly.
  • Coordinate with all departments and all levels of management to ensure that new employees have what they need for day 1 (i.e., equipment, email accounts, log in and systems credentials, software, PPE, etc.)
  • Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with all regulations and oversee I9 and E-Verify process.
  • Follow up with new employees to evaluate onboarding experience and recommend ways to enhance the new hire onboarding programs and experience.
  • Regularly assesses and recommends program changes and enhancements to drive better retention and engagement of new hires.
  • Work on new and existing projects People Operations around employee engagement, retention, and recognition.

Skills & Experiences Needed:

  • 2+ years HR experience (Talent Acquisition, L&D, Generalist, etc..) with the ability and desire to grow within People Operations.
  • Basic competence and knowledge of HR processes.
  • Thriving in a fast-paced environment with professional integrity and sense of responsibility and accountability.
  • Comfortable working in a highly visible role.
  • Advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, Power point, MS Teams, etc.) and HRIS systems.
  • Proven project & time management capabilities (prioritize, multi-task, attention to detail and meeting deadlines).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact with all employee levels.
