The Full Time Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the overall appearance of the estate winery grounds. The successful candidate is passionate about sustainable horticulture and will be maintaining our fully organic landscape at a high level of presentation. This unique role includes all aspects of groundskeeping across the property including maintaining our organic vegetable garden.

Accountabilities & Impact:
- Perform the following duties:
- Mowing lawns using both push and ride-on mowers
- Maintain landscaped, and naturalized areas with a high level of detail
- Minor repairs to irrigation systems
- Assist in fertilization, and pest and disease control programs
- Weed removal from mulched beds, and selective removal from naturalized areas
- Pressure washing concrete surfaces
- Spraying, pruning, and harvesting a variety of fruit trees
- Planting, weeding, and harvesting the kitchen vegetable garden
- Removing litter, blowing hard surfaces, and general cleaning of the grounds
- Operating a variety of tools and machinery including UTV's, mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers, etc.
- Identify problem areas and/or deficiencies in the estate grounds and take appropriate corrective action as directed by the Regional Grounds Manager.
- Winter duties including:
- Removal of heavy snow from trees, shrubs, and conifers
- Removal of snow from roads, pathways, and stairs throughout the estate
- Winter pruning on trees and shrubs and general tidying of the grounds and residences
Skills & Experience Needed:
- Completion of a university or college program in horticulture, or related field is an asset
- 2+ years landscaping, horticulture, or property maintenance experience
- Plant identification knowledge, or willingness to learn
- Solid understanding landscaping techniques and irrigation maintenance
- Ability to identify pests, diseases, and deficiencies for lawns, shrubs, and trees
- Organized with strong problem-solving skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Team player, Self-Starter
- Physically able to perform the requirements of the job
- Valid Driver's license
- Ability to work a flexible working schedule to cover demands of the business
