Compliance Specialist

This position, reporting to the Compliance Manager, ensures that products comply with the regulatory requirements of state and federal agencies within the US Malt Beverage and Distilled Spirits industries. Key responsibilities include registering new brands, updating brand registrations, completing annual brand renewals, posting state prices, and communicating any compliance risks to the Compliance Manager.

Accountabilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of TTB certificates of label approval (COLA), and formulas, maintaining comprehensive records.
  • Submit, manage and monitor the status of state registrations for malt beverages and distilled spirits labels, maintaining comprehensive records of current registrations.
  • Conduct thorough research on state laws, staying informed of regulatory changes, and effectively communicating updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Submission of price postings to state agencies, collaborating with the pricing team to ensure current pricing is accurately reflected.

  • On time rate of COLA's, formulas, state registrations, and price postings
  • Accuracy of submissions to the TTB and state agencies
  • Stakeholder feedback

Own:

  • State and federal label registrations: submission and maintaining files

Influence:

  • Route to market of new innovations

Veto:

  • Incomplete or inaccurate submissions to state or federal agencies
  • Incomplete records

Critical Relationships:

  • Research and Development, Product Commercialization, Sales teams.
  • Support all compliance team members ad hoc

Skills Needed To Be Successful:

  • 3-5 years regulatory compliance or paralegal experience, alcohol beverage industry preferred
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Prior Experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro is preferred
  • Experience handling confidential and sensitive information
  • Ability to advise company personnel on compliance risks and complex concepts in a clear and concise manner
