Job Title: Procurement Manager

Working Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $34.72 per hour
General Description:
The NA Indirect Purchasing Manager will collaborate with Category Managers and the Sr. Director of Indirect Procurement to develop and implement procurement strategies for indirect spend categories in a petrochemical manufacturing environment. The role involves managing a team of buyers located across various regions, optimizing cost efficiency, ensuring compliance, and building strategic supplier relationships. The ideal candidate should be proficient in SAP and Excel and have experience with MRO, services, utilities, and CAPEX procurement strategies.

1. Strategic Procurement Planning and Execution
- Collaborate with Category Managers and the Sr. Director of Indirect Procurement to design and implement procurement strategies for indirect spend categories such as MRO and services.
- Conduct spend analysis, market research, and supplier evaluations to identify sourcing opportunities.
- Lead contract negotiations to secure favorable terms and conditions for the company.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and best practices in all procurement activities.
2. Team Leadership and Execution
- Manage and mentor a team of buyers across multiple regions, providing guidance, performance feedback, and professional development.
- Set clear performance goals and track team progress through regular reviews and KPI monitoring.
- Promote collaboration across the team and align procurement efforts with organizational goals.
- Facilitate training for the team on SAP, negotiation techniques, and category management to ensure continuous development.
3. Tactical Supplier Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Implement supplier performance management systems, including scorecards and regular performance evaluations.
- Mitigate supplier risks by assessing financial stability, delivery capabilities, and market conditions.
4. Operational Improvement and Reporting
- Utilize SAP and other procurement tools to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
- Monitor procurement performance metrics, including cost savings, compliance, and supplier performance.
- Generate and analyze reports related to spend management, supplier performance, and procurement efficiency.
- Oversee procurement activities within SAP, including purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and supplier invoicing.
5. General Duties
- Ensure adherence to procurement contracts, including pricing, quantities, and rebate thresholds.
- Communicate supplier performance updates to Category Managers and Quality Managers.
- Provide backup support for colleagues and participate in additional procurement-related projects as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Science, or a Technical field (preferred).
- Relevant certifications in Procurement, Supply Chain, or SAP are a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sourcing or purchasing, with a focus on indirect procurement.
- Experience with MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) and e-procurement tools is advantageous.
- Experience working within a matrix organizational structure.
- Proven experience managing procurement activities within SAP, including requisitions, orders, and invoicing.
Skills:
- Strong negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to secure favorable terms with suppliers.
- Expertise in indirect spend categories such as MRO, services, utilities, and CAPEX.
- Strong supplier relationship management and performance evaluation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong leadership abilities, with experience in mentoring and developing remote teams.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
- Experience with demand planning and aligning procurement strategies with business goals.
