About the Role
Magna is seeking a highly motivated Systems Test Engineer to join the New Mobility group in Lowell, Massachusetts. The engineer is responsible for defining, performing, and documenting test plans for robotic platforms. They will work as part of an inter-disciplinary team to ensure that requirements are met, and architectures are successfully implemented. This is an onsite role in our Lowell office.
Your Responsibilities
- Support the development and maintenance of systems test plans for autonomous mobile robots, including developing procedures, and defining metrics for pass/fail criteria.
- Support the technical and logistical planning of systems tests including cross-functional coordination.
- Lead the execution of systems test plans, reporting results and escalating issues/bugs.
- Complete detailed documentation of testing processes and results.
- Troubleshoot and debug simple issues in the field, and trace failures to correct subsystems.
- File detailed bug reports and coordinate with hardware and software teams to resolve them.
- Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and results.
- Design, develop, and operate test equipment and instrumentation systems.
- Provide detailed feedback to engineering team on the automated system performance.
- Perform other duties, support special projects and tasks as assigned.
Who we are looking for
- BS in Systems, Electrical, Computer science, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years in robotics, automotive, or aerospace industry.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects; requires good time management, prioritization, and organizational skills to meet stringent deadlines.
- Experience with requirement and test traceability tools (e.g. Test Rail)
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and hands-on experience with debugging software systems.
- Familiarity with using Linux OS.
- Issues management - JIRA, Agile, Scrum
Your preferred qualifications
Familiarity with autonomous robot hardware, including sensors (cameras, LiDAR)
Experience with SIL and HIL testing.
Familiarity with programming languages such as C/C++, python
Familiarity with networking and WiFi protocols.
