About the Role

This position reports directly to the EHS Manager and is responsible for the general and specific job duties as described below:

Your Responsibilities

  • To exhibit an objective, fair and professional attitude that exemplifies the principles outlined in The MAGNA Employee's Charter to maintain a positive and productive workplace.

  • Ensure that you follow company policies and business objectives in the daily supervision of the operations of the company.

  • To demonstrate problem solving skills in a work environment that is striving for continuous improvement.
  • To support all customer quality standards as well as the standards of Decostar.
  • To perform daily cross-functional job assignments as required and per the department's established procedures and work instructions.
  • Ensure a spirit of respect, cooperation, ethical conduct and fair dealing in all our operations between internal and external customers and suppliers.

Who we are looking for

  • Ensure that all accidents or injuries are reported immediately and actively participate in the accident investigation and completion of all open action items.
  • Have knowledge of general workplace health and safety in regards to the general public and visitors to Decostar.
  • Manage environmental activities through strong leadership, communication, motivation and direction of staff (if applicable).
  • Guide the development and implementation of Environmental policies and programs.
  • Ensure legislative compliance with EPA, GA EPD, SCDHEC and serve as a liaison with area representatives.
  • Maintain necessary permits and ensure all reporting is done accurately and timely.
  • Conduct routine workplace inspections and establish measurable standards from which further recommendations (continuous improvement) can be made, with effective follow-up.
  • Environmental Responsibilities:
  • Lead and update ISO 14001 Environmental Management System for all sites.
  • Oversee environmental compliance programs and inspections at Decostar Service, Greenville Molding and Greenville Sequencing Center.
  • Oversee Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure program as well as AST and UST compliance.
  • Oversee and submit Toxic Release Inventory calculations using PowerBI analytics.
  • Oversee new program launch and process changes to ensure, state, and Magna regulations are met.
  • Oversee Tier II reporting calculations and submission.
  • Oversee Title V permit compliance, calculations, reporting, inspections, and regulatory state visits.
  • Creates, updates, and assigns regulatory training to employees in the Learning Management System.
  • Enters environmental data in Magna's compliance platform, HSELinx.
  • Direct management team relating to environmental issues.

Your preferred qualifications

  • Minimum of five years Environmental Engineering experience, preferably in automotive manufacturing (Injection molding, paint, and assembly processes). 5+ years preferred.
  • Demonstrated strength with analytical/problem solving, oral and written communication, and organizational skills.
  • PE certification is a plus.
  • Certified wastewater treatment operator is a plus.
  • Must have strong computer and data analytics skills in a Windows platform and PowerBI.
  • Experience in computer skills such as Microsoft Word or Excel
  • Fluent in English (reading and writing).
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field of study, or equivalent experience.
