About the Role
Generalist will provide primary support in one discipline, while learning & providing secondary support in other areas. Senior Generalist will provide primary support in two or more disciplines while assisting the HR Manager with all aspects of Human Resources administration, including Employee relations matters, compensation/benefits, training, recruitment, etc.

Your Responsibilities
- Ensure Magna's Human Resources systems and policies are consistently applied based on principles of Magna's Employee's Charter, and are in compliance with Federal, State and local regulations
- Develop and assist with training requirements and coordinate all documentation for personnel files
- Conduct recruiting activities to support production requirements
- Assist in developing and conducting new Employee orientations to cover Magna Team Member Charter, company policies and procedures, and benefits information
- Maintain Division job description program
- Able to maintain confidentiality, and use discretion and tact
- Assist in administration of division drug testing program and maintain statistics
- Provide counsel and support to team members and management on employee relations matters and seek to maintain balanced level of positive team member relations
- Assist in keeping handbook is kept up to date by timely incorporation of policy revisions, ensure adherence throughout the company.
- Administer all Division benefit programs and serve as resource on benefit issues
- Administer FMLA program and disability management
- Assist in Wage Progression program
- Administer Job Posting program
- Prepare and conduct presentations to encourage health and education on insurance cost containment
- Assist in administering PeopleSoft database, ensuring it is kept current, and liaison with Magna Corporate as appropriate
- Promote and ensure full utilization of all communication channels so that continuous dialogue exists among Employees, Direct Leaders and management
- Provide counsel and support to Human Resources Manager and provide necessary backup
- Ensure timely completion of relevant portions of EOS Action Plan
- Maintain high profile with Employee on plant floor and be a strong advocate to ensure timely resolution of Employee concerns and issues
- Encourage safety and housekeeping practices and lead by example
- Promote and facilitate Open Door process and Fair Treatment
- Participate in Continual Improvement activities
- Adhere to customer requirements, Business Operating System and company policies
- Perform other duties as assigned
Who we are looking for
- Post secondary education in business, human resources or related field
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource related field preferred
- Three years experience in human resources field, preferably in a manufacturing environment for HR Generalist
- Five plus years human resource experience required for Senior HR Generalist
