About the Role

The Sr. Specialist, Total Rewards is responsible for the development, implementation and administration of new and existing total compensation programs for the organization. Collaborating with global HR partners, Corporate office and vendors as needed, this role will conduct market research, internal analysis and provide consultative expertise to the organization to ensure employee compensation and company practices are competitive, in accordance with Magna's Employees' Charter principles.

Your Responsibilities

TOTAL COMPENSATION

  • Bring subject matter expertise (SME) in the area of Compensation to develop, implement and administer robust and competitive programs and processes which are aligned with the global business strategy and the Magna Employees' Charter principles.
  • Provide consultative expertise in compensation management and administration, incentive programs, job evaluation programs and the integration of related legislated requirements in the respective regions. Interfaces with regional experts as necessary to ensure comprehensive considerations.
  • Leads implementation and change management relative to new initiatives.
  • Provides training and education to support global HR Partners and operating divisions.
  • Partners with external vendors, professional associations and networks to conduct in-depth and relevant market data/trend analysis to ensure competitiveness of total compensation programs and the ability to attract talent into the organization.
  • Supports administration and optimization of the Workday system and assist other Magna divisions with Workday implementation.
  • Manages the Magna Total Compensation Survey for the Global Group Office and monitors completion across the company's respective regions, providing support and ensuring timely completion, as well as gathering feedback from HR Partners for continuous improvement.
  • Support annual salary and bonus administration, coordinating globally to ensure alignment with business plan objectives and Magna recommendations.
  • Support executive management contract approval/renewal process (ECAF) ensuring effective records retention, timely processing, share requirement compliance and effective communication to all stakeholders.
  • Develop and oversee the Job Evaluation process to support effective market data comparison, salary/pay administration practices and internal pay equity compliance, as required. Provide guidance, training and support to others as necessary.
  • Make recommendations and advise stakeholders relative to Job Description development to ensure the effectiveness of Job Evaluation and other relevant business needs.

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

  • Must understand and comply the laws and cultures in countries which Magna conducts business & Magna compliances.
  • Involvement in financial matters is on a level of providing data only and/or making recommendations.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY

  • No direct supervision of incumbents and/or work units/departments.

HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY

  • Ensure all safety and non-safety rules and regulations are followed
  • Ensure adherence to established quality and housekeeping standards
  • Review and adhere to MML's health and safety, environmental, and quality standards, operating procedures, and policies
  • Respond immediately to items brought to his/her attention with respect to hazards, defects or non-compliance issues
  • Understand and uphold the policies that prohibit workplace violence and harassment
  • In addition to the above, the duties include those specified under the Occupational Health & Safety Act

Your preferred qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field
  • Certification such as CCP, CMS or CEBS preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • 4- 7 years progressive and relevant work experience in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Experience in automotive/industrial manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and administering global compensation programs.
  • Demonstrated experience with an HRIS system in a global scope (Workday preferred)
  • Sound knowledge of Human Resources principles and practices, general payroll and benefits administration principles and applicable regional legal requirements.
  • Excellent computer literacy and command of Microsoft Office. Advanced Excel Skills are required.
  • Global compensation experience is an asset.
