About the Role

The Robotics Technician is responsible for modifying existing automation control systems and designing, estimating, and commissioning new ones integrated with Robots based on PLC's. They implement Safety Category 4 for installations, presses, and robotics work cells and integrate equipment with robots and testing instruments. The engineer troubleshoots process problems, participates in Continuous Improvement initiatives, and maintains automated work cells, mechanical, and hydraulic presses. They also set up and conduct maintenance programs, follow standardized work instructions/procedures, and ensure compliance with customer requirements and quality, health and safety, and environmental standards.

Your Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for modifying existing automation control systems as well as designing, estimating, and commissioning new automation control systems integrated with Robots based on PLC's
  2. Implement Safety Category 4 for all required installations, presses and robotics work cells. Integrate equipment with robots and various testing and monitoring instruments
  3. Troubleshoot process problems and initiative and/or participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives and quality improvements. Maintain and service automated work cells; mechanical and hydraulic presses
  4. Set up and conduct predictive and preventative maintenance programs for required equipment. Perform all work in good standard, respond to off duty calls, and work rotating shifts if required. Follow all work cell and/or department standardized work instructions/procedures.
  5. Ensure, with the cooperation of other Co-Ex-Tec departments and Corporate that the division achieves and maintains the highest possible Customer rating for satisfaction; strive for zero defects in all areas of the business.
  6. Perform any other reasonable duty as required or assigned by Management.


Who we are looking for

  • Degree/diploma in Electrical Engineering, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering
  • Certified Electrician, an asset
  • Minimum 3 Years of experience in Electrical / Controls Design and Programmable Logic
  • Controllers / Human Machine Interface Programming (PLC / HMI) / Vision Systems / Robot programming and troubleshooting including debugging, testing and commissioning.
  • Strong MS Office skills
