About the Role

First line production operator is responsible for the weld destruct. Testing of the product, in a safe and efficient manner.

Your Responsibilities

• Understand, promote and live by Magna's philosophies and the Employee Charter
• Support Quality Assurance Team Leader to promote product quality and continuous improvement
• Conducts visual audits and inspections as required
• Demonstrates a sense of urgency in achieving results
• Notify appropriate people of non-conformance situation, part fit-up and missing components
• Attend and participate in area meetings
• Monitors, records and documents data
• Maintains a clean and tidy work area
• Performs operations in a manner consistent with Modatek's objective for quality,Responsiveness, and cost.
• Perform all functions in a safe manner
• Complete GMAW weld destruct and grinding
• Complete spot weld tear-down and inspection
• Follow and comply with all Operational Procedures and Policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Quality and Environment programs (i.e. IATF 16949, ISO14001)
• Understand, promote and live by Magna's philosophies and Employee Charter
• Adhere to Modatek's core values; integrity, respect, trust, honesty, fairness and loyalty
• Follow Magna's Code of Conduct and Ethics and related compliance policies
• Perform all duties in an environmentally responsible manner in accordance with the Modatek Systems Environmental Policy
• Perform other duties as required

Who we are looking for

• Grade twelve (12) education or equivalent education and work-related experience
• Demonstrates interpersonal skills
• Demonstrates effective written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work rotating shifts
• Willingness to travel for training and meetings
• Ability to uphold confidentiality
• Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to work overtime to meet customer needs
