About the Role

Quality Engineering is required to work with all departments and suppliers to develop and maintain the new and current product to meet customer and IATF 16949 requirements. This position includes all internal and supplier quality-related aspects of PPAP, prototype, product development, and engineering changes.

Your Responsibilities

• Maintains a high level of confidentiality while managing customer-sensitive documents and data that drives the process and product changes.
• Assist in IATF 16949 / customer-specific requirement implementation and compliance.
• Coordinate and complete customer & supplier Product PPAP and APQP activities
• Coordinate and complete Product Engineering Change Notice submissions (ECN).
• Initiate and lead the Corrective Action Reports (CAR) for official, unofficial & supplier concerns and support internal investigations.
• Prepare Purchase Requisitions and reconcile invoices for payment on all customer sort activities
• Issue a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number for all customer returns and update Sales Order (SO) in the internal database once return parts are received.
• Manage RMA activities on supplier components.
• Coordinate customer and supplier visits at Modatek and ensures long-term professional relationships
• Provide backup and support for Quality Team (vacations and absents).
• Perform internal or supplier Control Plan Audits as per schedule.
• Compile data for both internal & external customers, including Statistical studies.
• Implement containment activities and update documentation as required. Drive the removal of containment activities through Corrective Actions, including supplier issues.
• Utilizing the Modatek tracking system & monitors supplier non-conformances
• Verifies corrective actions to resolve the issue and ensures 8Ds are submitted on time
• Schedule and perform customer & supplier visits.
• Develop, maintain, and update Production Control Plans as required.
• Maintain non-conformance tracking systems and supplier chargebacks with supplier issue-related costs.
• Participate in plant-wide Continuous Improvement activities.
• Follows and complies with all Operational Procedures and Policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Quality and Environment programs (i.e., IATF 16949, ISO14001)

Who we are looking for

• Post-secondary graduate with a technical diploma or a certificate in Quality Engineering (CQE)
• 3-5 years of quality experience in an automotive environment or similar
• Experience with IATF 16949 processes.
• Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submission and approval, Geometric Dimensions & Tolerance (GD&T), Flow Diagrams, FMEAs, Control Plans, Statistics, and fixture development based on part GD&T.
• Demonstrated ability to use precision measurement tools (height gauge, Vernier, micrometer, bore gauge, indicator, etc.)
• Well-versed in Root Cause Analysis and various problem-solving including Drill Deep, 8D, 5 Phase
• Ability to effectively communicate to all levels of plant personnel & to suppliers
• Good organizational and interpersonal skills & strong attention to detail
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and multiple demands
• Computer literate and proficiency in MS Office
• Ability to uphold confidentiality.
• Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Availability to work overtime to meet customer needs.
• Trained and experienced in performing supplier assessment and audits to IATF 16949 requirements considered an asset
