Division Description

Cosma Castings Michigan (CCMI)- a division of Magna International- is located in Battle Creek, Michigan. We are a casting and assembly facility that manufactures automotive body components for GM, Ford, FCA, Honda, and other aftermarket customers. We operate a 300,000-square-foot facility with approximately 500 employees. Summary of Responsibilities

The Quality Engineer is responsible for participating in the development and maintenance of APQP, PPAP, and ISO/TS 16949 documentation. The position holder participates in the preparation and maintenance of process inspection instructions, reports, and quality alerts.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensure that customer requirements are incorporated into product functional specifications and lead risk and failure analysis (PFEMA) to ensure functional specification requirements are fully met during process/design validation with suppliers.
  • Lead and direct internal and external Quality system events including ISO/TS 16949 audits and Q1 audits.
  • Support new program launches and customer expectations while providing quality leadership during pre-production builds.
  • Adhere to customer requirements, Business Operating Systems, and company policies.
  • Work effectively with all departments and associates for continual improvement of Cosma Casting methods, procedures, and policies.
  • Participate in Continual Improvement activities.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 5 years of Quality experience, preferably in a castings manufacturing environment
  • Fundamental computer skills using Microsoft Office suite.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of customer-specific requirements and ISO/TS 16949
  • You must pass a urine drug screen, background check, and physical capability examination.
