Position Summary

Assists product line team with data research, comparative analysis, strategy development, and communication.

Team Summary:

Responsible for providing technical direction and subject matter expertise for Driveline Systems transfer case product line. The product line architect will be required to audit, maintain and enhance new and existing standard concepts, architecture and documentation for the transfer case product line. The architect will also act as the global liaison/main point of contact for the transfer case product line. Provide expert advice to regional and global teams as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track and drive progress for mechatronics Product Line projects.
  • Structure and compile technical documentation for product line best practices.
  • Participate in the research and analysis of opportunities for innovative products, stay informed of industry trends and company strategy.
  • Establish preferred subsystem part number lists for future bill of materials.
  • Creation of new business plan technical 1-pagers based on product line strategy direction.
  • Supports and adheres to policies, procedures, and operational guidelines related to established quality management system (IATF 16949).
  • Maintains working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Expected Learning Outcomes:
    • Familiarization with 4WD systems as assemblies through the component level.
    • Methods for developing product line strategies.
    • Experience working with a global team.
    • Concise technical communication.
    • Exposure to business planning process.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA required.
  • Enrolled in an engineering program with an accredited school.
  • Understand the basics of engineering theory and principles of design.
  • Working knowledge in computer based software, organizational/communication skills, ability to work with others in a team environment.

Work Environment

Office Environment; limited travel required.

While working in this environment, the employee will be exposed to machinery, moving equipment and material, moderate noise, airborne particles, fumes and various levels of temperature created by manufacturing processes.
