REPORTING TO: MATERIALS MANAGER

LOCATION: PLYMOUTH, MICHIGAN

Your Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Materials Analyst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our materials planning and supply chain processes. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Outgoing Orders: Initiating and managing outgoing orders to maintain adequate inventory levels and support production schedules and OEM's.
  2. Customer Screen Management: Handling and responding to small tasks and inquiries within customer web-based screens, ensuring timely and accurate resolution and communication.
  3. Customer Communication: Answering incoming phone calls and emails related to material availability, orders, and general inquiries.
  4. Part Number Management: Utilizing systems to locate and verify part numbers, facilitating efficient material flow and order processing.
  5. Inventory Control: Addressing and resolving inventory discrepancies and outages promptly to minimize production disruptions.
  6. Assembly Line Support: Providing timely answers and support to assembly line queries regarding materials availability and order status.
  7. The ability to occasionally answer telephone calls and perform job duties outside of regular working hours.
  8. Understand your responsibility for health and safety in the workplace. Cooperate with OSHA MIOSHA inspectors. Wear the appropriate personal protective equipment. Follow all safety rules. Report unsafe conditions immediately. Report injuries, accidents, illnesses, near misses, property damage immediately. Will not remove or make ineffective any protective device such as a guard, light curtain, etc. Will not use or operate any machine or equipment that the employee is not trained to operate. Will not use or operate any machine or equipment in a manner that may endanger any employee including themselves.
  9. Participates in continuous improvement processes, individually and with teams, and champions projects to improve cost, quality, and delivery. Researches and recommends current material control management practices and implements appropriate changes, as necessary.


Who we are looking for

  1. Experience in the automotive industry is preferred.
  2. Three years' experience in a related field including production scheduling and material pull systems; or equivalent preferred.


Your preferred qualifications

  • Demonstrate strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills in order to perform job duties in an appropriate manner.
  • Demonstrate high degree of problem-solving ability. Ability to independently analyze data and determine appropriate course of action while maintaining high standards of service and support for production operations.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to work well under pressure and changing priorities.
  • Demonstrate ability to utilize computer systems for data entry and retrieval.
  • Good understanding of production inventory control techniques and principles. Knowledge and experience with a formal manufacturing control system is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
