About the Role
Under the direction of the Paint Manager, the Coatings Technician is responsible for the daily activities of the technical aspects of the coating processes to ensure that a controlled process is being run and that overall safety practices are being followed.

The Coatings Technician is responsible to ensure that the Customer, People, and Investor goals are balanced and met.
Your Responsibilities
- Ensure that proper start-up, shut-down, and trouble-shooting procedures are being followed.
- Operates paint line to include startup, operation, and shut down.
- Operates wastewater treatment system to include startup, operation, and shut down.
- Operates auxiliary systems including, but not limited to, RO water systems and boilers.
- Collect samples, analyzes, and adjusts coating line process parameters using lab equipment.
- Collect samples, analyzes, and adjusts wastewater system parameters to ensure wastewater is within permit limits.
Who we are looking for
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma required, Technical / Mechanical Diploma / Degree or Certificate strongly preferred.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- 3-5 years Manufacturing Experience Required
- 3-5 years in a technical role involving hard coating, painting, and/or vacuum metalizing or vacuum plasma processing.
- Robotics and controls experience would be an asset.
Your preferred qualifications
- Thorough understanding of coating processes and defect analysis.
- Technical knowledge of HVAC systems, clean room environments and fluid handling equipment.
- Strong knowledge of industrial processes and machinery.
- Ability to perform DOS's and experiments to resolve coating issues.
- Aptitude for mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Must be able to learn and utilize basic chemistry.
- Ability to learn the fundamentals of process control and understand the importance of consistent application.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
- Ability to learn and comprehend computer language.
- Ability to communicate technically with various departments.
- Self-motivated, ability to take initiative and follow through to job completion.
