Maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery, building mechanical equipment and systems.
Your Responsibilities
- Completes preventative maintenance to ensure the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. May include, but not limited to, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, bowl feeders and production machines.
- Identifies sources of problems by observing machinery in operation, listening for problems, using testing equipment, analyzing test results, reviewing machine error messages, using information obtained from the operators, interpreting schematics and other methods.
- Examines parts for defects and removes defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, hand tools and power tools.
- Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts and using rules, calipers, micrometers, voltmeters and other measuring devices.
- Adjusts functional parts of device and controls instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs and straightedges.
- Repairs or replaces broken or malfunctioning parts of mechanical equipment.
- Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
- Maintains equipment, parts and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level and anticipates needed equipment, parts and supplies.
- Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
Who we are looking for
- Journeyman's certification - Required
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Your preferred qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Journeyman's certification - Required
- 6+ years of industrial equipment maintenance experience - Preferred
- Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, PLCs and PCs. - Preferred
