Purpose:
Responsible for completing daily operations of injection molding equipment and tools in accordance with division standard operating procedures to ensure quality and production goals are achieved.
Leads material technicians in day to day operations through communication and enforcement of company policies and procedures, training and development, safety awareness, performance coaching and attendance issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support process and other activities consistent with departmental expectations and goals.
  • Perform tool changes in accordance with the production schedule
  • Support the building and maintaining of End of Arm tooling, part placement nests and degate fixtures.
  • Support machine process, develop skill set which will allow you to make adjustments within process tolerance and recommend any changes for improved efficiencies.
  • Continually monitor all processes related to injection molding.
  • Analyze and resolve any processing problems.
  • Support Molding Process Engineer in resolving any product non-conformity issues that may arise.
  • Set-up and start-up of new tools and resins for trial.
  • Conform to the implementation of continuous process improvement in the molding department.
  • Adhere to safe lifting practices as outlined in the AIM Systems Safety Manual.
  • Exhibit teamwork skills and actively participate in team activities in a positive working environment.
  • Demonstrate problem solving skills in a work environment that is striving for continuous improvement.
  • Follow Company policies and display conduct expected of AIM Systems employees as described in the employee handbook.
  • Follow safety rules of the Company and work in a manner that is conducive to maintaining a safe and healthful workplace.
  • Organize and maintain 5s for all auxiliary equipment, end of arm tools, hot runner & valve gate plugs, etc.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by observing safe work practices and by following all safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain forklift certification and attended updated training, as needed.
  • Liaise with other shifts to inform them of quality, production or supplier problems/issues.
  • Maintain a high degree of visibility and access to employees throughout the shift.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education/Special Knowledge:

  • Course work relating to injection molding desired

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of related experience in injection molding, preferably in an automotive manufacturing environment
  • Must have experience processing plastics and setting tools
  • Knowledge of automation systems and controls
  • Experience in fabrication( i.e. fixture building, making water lines)
  • Minimum 2 years of ISO/TS16949 experience; and knowledge of ISO14001
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, as well as, strong organization skills
  • Strong computer skills
