About the Role

The Facilities Team Leader ensures optimal facility appearance and operation through coordinating / conducting facility preventative maintenance, repairs and other tasks as assigned by the management team within safety standards and specifications.

Your Responsibilities

• Skilled in general facility repairs and renovations (ie: concrete repairs, wall construction, drywall etc.)
• Skilled in minor plumbing repairs
• Support and coordinate repairs on HVAC, compressors, internal heaters, and CO2 monitoring systems
• Responsible for maintenance and repairs on sprinkler and fire management systems in compliance with health and safety requirements
• Monitor and ensure completion of general building maintenance and repairs including structural, lighting (internal / external), roofing (leaks and damage), interior and exterior conditions of flooring, walkways and parking lots
• Responsible for minor repairs on facility and shipping dock and door systems in a timely manner
• Weld exhaust repairs when required
• Pest management, snow removal / landscaping and general parking lot maintenance
• Responsible for the general maintenance and appearance of the facility both internally and externally
• Support contractors to ensure timeliness of projects and compliance to company policies / procedures
• Required to complete PMs as necessary and assigned
• Oversee related duties as directed by Manager / Supervisor
• Follow contractor safety program requirements (obtain documents, complete contractor orientations, etc.)
• Communicate and work effectively with other departments
• Must be comfortable and trained to work at heights as required
• Willing and able to work overtime and flexible hours as required
• Must adhere to all MAFACT requirements
• Adhere to all IATF 16949 policies and procedures
• Must comply with all ISO 14001 (Environmental) system and standards as it pertains to work
• Abide by all AODA and C-TPAT procedures that apply to their position
• Lead the facilities maintenance team, including cleaners, technicians, and contractors.
• Schedule, assign, and oversee day-to-day tasks to ensure smooth operation of the facilities.
• Work with Maintenance Manager to provide training and development to team members, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.

Who we are looking for

• Valid Ontario Certified Electricians Certificate 309A as an asset; Millwright certification as an asset
• Forklift license and experience in moving heavy equipment
• Compress air maintenance experience
• 3 -5 years' experience in a facility maintenance position, preferably in manufacturing
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment
• Ability to work in fast paced, high energy and demanding work environment
• Excellent time management and prioritization skills, ability to adjust priorities as required
• Excellent problem-solving and adaptability skills
• Basic knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and maintenance systems
• Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role is an asset
