About the Role
The ADAS Director leads the core engineering team(s) through the product development and manufacturing readiness cycles in the delivery of innovative and cost-effective high performance compute solutions. The person has responsibility for both people management (development, coaching) and project leadership for these projects in his/her domain.
Your Responsibilities
- Provides technical leadership in directing the efforts of a cross functional engineering team in the development and release of all relevant engineering deliverables in compliance with the product development process.
- Direct a technical team that includes technical leads and architects in the implementation of project objectives and overall activities.
- Provides team leadership, management support, including coaching and active engagement with direct and extended team.
- Resource planning to develop and approve budget and alignment to ensure responsible projects are properly staffed with the right quality and quantity of resources to meet the deliverables.
- Ensures that programs are properly resourced (both quality and quantity) for success, whether through assignment of direct resources, or leverage of external resources as required.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, reward, disciplinary actions, and performance appraisals of direct reporting employees.
- Ensures engineering timing plans, defect / issues list, risk assessments, lessons learned are created and maintained.
- Provide engineering status for project reviews (e.g. gate, design, milestones, etc.) per program timing for all assigned projects.
- Tracks and reports on engineering targets (BOM cost, quality, timing, performance, project and department engineering budget, core re-use metrics, etc.) for all assigned projects.
- Manage key supplier technical relationships for technologies needed for the product.
- As appropriate, acts as primary interface for all escalated technical issues.
- Responsible for ensuring new technology is aligned with market needs to maximize re-use.
- Leads all Technical Design Reviews within responsible product line
- Responsible for all engineering quote response (effort, material, capital, tooling, etc.) for new program opportunities.
- Directs core continuous improvement efforts for products, processes and programs.
- Ensures compliance to Company procedures (e.g. Process - Work Instructions) and applicable standards (e.g. ISO/TS 16949, ISO/IEC TR 15504).
- Performs other duties as necessary for completion of projects and achievement of departmental goals
- Complies with the requirements of Quality Operating System (QOS)
Who we are looking for
- Bachelor's degree in systems, electrical, or SW engineering is a must.
- Master's or PhD in relevant technical field preferred.
- Management/Leadership is required.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in the Automotive/ADAS ECU/Controller areas as a design engineer, technical lead, and as a manager of highly complex ADAS projects. Includes the responsibility within a team environment the identification, development, and customer delivery of complex systems with embedded SW.

- Comprehensive working knowledge in structured engineering approach
- Comprehensive working knowledge of structured problem solving (8D)
- Comprehensive working knowledge of configuration management, project planning, monitoring and control techniques
- Comprehensive working knowledge on what is needed to deliver high performance compute solutions in the automotive field
- Personal Requirements
- Able to work effectively in a global environment
- Able to travel (domestic and international may be needed). Expected travel 25%
- Able to lead, coach, and motivate a cross functional team, including matrixed resources
- Able to present technical topics internally and externally
