About the Role:
As the Manager of DevOps, you will manage the DevOps team, own the infrastructure and deployment stack and manage all internal communications related to DevOps. You will be responsible for quality control, management and development of continuous integration and deployment solutions for our applications. In this role you will focus on optimization and automation which will improve team efficiency, including leading initiatives to implement best practices. You are expected to approach each day with a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset, partnering with internal teams and advocating for DevOps strategy and initiatives with senior leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the build and operational management of highly secure and scalable software for the business.
  • Identify areas to automate workflow and expand and improve our architecture and security.
  • Monitor bottlenecks and inefficiencies in DevOps and proactively raise suggestions for reduction and/or removal of same.
  • Document and implement systems infrastructure best practices, building tools that enable proactive monitoring, continuous deployment, automated testing, and quality control.
  • Partner with engineering and security teams to architect resilient products using modern best practices and cloud technologies.
  • Develop tools that leverage productivity amplifiers such as code generators and automated scripts for scalable deployment
  • Communicate priorities and status of initiatives to senior leadership on a weekly basis.
  • Manage and execute on network security initiatives in partnership with SecOps.
  • Manage and administer multiple AWS accounts, from security to cost management
  • Execute on frequent, incremental code testing and deployment
  • Act as the escalation point for service incidents
  • Collaborate with Information Security Team addressing privacy, security, and data protection needs and participate in control audits for compliance with for SOC 2, CCPA/GDPR, and ISO 27001
  • Manage, prioritize workloads, and evaluate the performance of the DevOps Team.
  • Set measurable OKRs for DevOps Team and conduct regular (weekly or biweekly) 1:1s.
  • Oversee training of new DevOps personnel and provide regular feedback on performance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • On-site working at the ML physical office in London 2-3 days per week is required
  • 10+ yrs professional experience, including 7+ yrs of hands-on DevOps experience & 3+ years of direct management experience
  • 5+ yrs experience with AWS or Microsoft Azure cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
  • 3+ yrs experience with release management tools like BitBucket Pipelines, AWS Code Pipeline, GitHub.
  • 3+ yrs experience with configuration management tools like Chef, Puppet, Ansible
  • 3+ yrs experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
  • 3+ yrs experience with container technologies such as Docker, Mesos, Kubernetes
  • 3+ yrs experience with monitoring and analytics tools such as DataDog, New Relic, AWS CloudWatch
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional Certification Required
  • Experience with cloud-based architectures and solutions
  • Hands-on experience with automation/configuration management, Continuous Integration, Deployment Automation and Orchestration, ideally using AWS services such as codedeploy and cloudformation
  • Solid Networking knowledge, TCP/IP, Internet Stack.
  • Solid grasp of Software Development Lifecycle concepts, roles, and responsibilities
  • Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
  • One or more of Mongo, Postgres, or MySQL
  • Linux/Unix Administration
  • Java, coding, and scripting (PHP, Python, Shell, Perl and/or Ruby)
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Off-hours availability required (across multiple time-zones)

Work Environment:
We offer a mix of in-office and hybrid working. Hybrid remote work arrangements are not available for all positions. Please refer to the job posting detail to determine what in-office requirements apply. Where applicable, hybrid WFH days work must be conducted from your home office located in a jurisdiction in which Madison Logic has the legal right to operate. WFH requires availability and responsiveness on a full-time basis from a distraction free environment with access to high-speed internet. Please inquire for more details.
